I walked in to The Wall Coffee & Design House and it was almost at full capacity. When I went to place my order the cashier asked if I could wait a couple of minutes until the kitchen opened up. I thought, if this place is packed when the kitchen is closed, there must be something good going on here. I decided to wait and I am glad I did.
I ordered a White Chocolate Mocha with a Mermaid Croque. The mocha was just the right amount of sweet on a nice cup that was completely full and it was perfectly warm, not hot or lukewarm, it was just the right temperature, Goldie Locks would approve.
The Mermaid Croque was nice and crunchy, easy to cut with the fork and knife and everything (the cheese, salmon, avocado) stayed in place after I cut it so that I could enjoy the combination of flavors. It was delicious.
Finally, I wanted to get something sweet and they recommended that I try the carrot cake. The carrot cake was nicely moist and the cream cheese frosting on top gave it a nice kick of sweetness. I think it also had some lavender.

There was a large selection of food and drinks, but opted to just go for a coffee as the prices were too high. I respect it's a fair price for many, but £7+ was a bit too high for sandwiches for me. My flat white was £3.80, which again was too expensive for me (I'm used to

It’s frustrating and unjust that those of us who choose not to support the cruelty, rape, and abuse inherent in the dairy industry (or those with a dairy allergy, which we have many lactose intolerant people in this society) are penalised financially. Why should I have to pay more simply to avoid contributing to animal exploitation or to accommodate a dietary need?
This policy is outdated and discriminatory. Offering plant-based milks at no extra charge should be the norm in 2024. Other establishments are setting this standard, so it’s disappointing to see a business fail to adapt and prioritise ethical and inclusive choices.
I urge the management to rethink this policy. Charging extra for choosing compassion or accommodating allergies is not only unfair, it alienates customers who care about animals and...
