Botanical Lounge — Restaurant in Colwyn Bay

My wife and I decided to come here for brunch, and we're both so glad we did!

On arrival, we were greeted by a polite and welcoming gentleman (I'm assuming the owner) and seated in the main dining area, just by the bar. The seats are cushioned and comfortable.

We were given a moment to decide what we wanted to eat and drink, then our orders were taken. I went for the Botanical Breakfast, while my wife had the chicken stuffed pita. We were told the food might be a little while as they had orders before us, but it took just under ten minutes (not long at all).

When the food arrived, we could already tell it was going to be good, just from its appearance. Everything looked fresh, well cooked, and beautifully presented.

We started tucking in, and weren't disappointed! The flavours were incredible. Everything tasted so fresh, and we savoured every single bite. Wow, just wow... The egg was perfectly cooked, with a runny yolk and a firm yet fluffy white. The bacon and hash browns were just the right amount of crisp, and sausages were thick and juicy, and the mushrooms... 🤤 I don't know what the mushrooms were cooked in, but I've never eaten mushrooms which tasted that good before. My wife enjoyed her food as well, but I want to try that for myself and review it another time.

I'm not exaggerating when I say Botanical Lounge serves one of, if not the best breakfasts I've ever eaten. I'm just the right amount of full, and I have that warm fuzzy feeling you only get from a truly delicious meal.

We had table booked for 7 of us the food took nearly 2 hours to arrive and when it did only 4 people got their meal and it took another 10 minutes for the other 3 meals to arrive the first 4 meals had now gone cold. The drinks also took ages to arrive when some were just a bottle of beer. Some of the meals were overpriced for the portion that was given. I’m glad I had the chicken burger because if I had ordered the salmon I would have been really disappointed and probably still hungry and I don’t eat big portions! After we complained they gave us 20% off but the night had been ruined by then and it was one of the party’s birthday. We won’t be going back again the service...

Came here on a quiet morning, had to wait around an hour for coffees and told it was our fault the coffee took so long to arrive as we didn't order as soon as we entered. We were told 15 minutes after ordering food that what we wanted was unavailable, then again 10 minutes later what we wanted as a replacement was unavailable.

The waitress was rude and the manager refused to listen at all to any complaints about the service and the fact some food turned up cold. The manager was argumentative, an apology would have been nice but deflection on being busy (3 tables of people) and blaming the customer for waiting for everyone to arrive before ordering seems to be...
