Bombay Palace sounds great, but the question is, is it up to the standard of the name Bombay Palace. Of course not surprisingly has 4 1/2 as a rating. Shocking how people are fooled. In my experience yesterday the waiters were unattentive at my table. Ordered drinks, coke was flat. It was changed to a bottle coke that too was flat didn't bother as there was not much they could have done. Ordered a vegetarian platter, which the waiter clearly wrote on his note pad for the order. VEGETARIAN PLATTER arrives but with a meat samosa. It is astonishing how uneducated the chefs are clearly not able to run a restaurant with a error of placing meat instead of veg samosas. This is just pure carelessness not a mistake. A establishment who also call themselves Bombay Palace have no chilli sauce as a condiment. The paneer in the platter was just fried and served where is the authentic flavour to divine in. Mains were ready but my money was not worth going to them. So drinks paid £14 and walked out. Thanks for the experience. I will never be returning to the palace. And you can mention or say whatever you want but makes no difference to my life. But I am entitled to my opinion and wish you...
Read moreI should have known - when there was only 1 brown person in the restaurant drinking with some businessmen.
In short the worst, most expensive Indian meal I've had in years Tiny portions. Mushroom rice, no flavour, badly cooked rice, couldn't see or taste any mushroom. But I was really happy I didn't order the pulao rice which had more colouring than rice, no spices & caused an allergic reaction in one of my companions. I got a mixed dish lamb and chicken - the chicken was supposed to be with spinach. No spinach the sauce was bright red and tasted of food colouring. The chicken was dry and tasteless (I think they may have used breast - inauthentic) the lamb was also dry, overcooked and swamped with a sauce that bore no recognition to anything Indian. I asked for my food to be spicy - madras and Vindaloo hot for main and side dish respectively. The woman eating korma said my food was milder than hers. Keema naan too greasy, fell apart and the 'meat' that fell out looked weird. There were 10 of us and there was not one mouthful of anything anyone ordered that made going there a good idea. The poppadoms with pickles were the best thing on the table. Which says everything you...
Read moreWe were here for the first time and would never visit again neither recommend it to some one.
We were a large group and ordered 3 Veg Platter but was only served for 2, when asked again they bought the third one. The first 2 were ok but the third was pathetic. It seems they were in hurry and everything was undercooked. We informed waiter about it but he doesn't seems to be worried at all, just heard us and left.
Chicken Biryani, the rice was again undercooked and very bland. Forget even the essence of biryani, it's not even worthy to be a plain rice.
Murgh Nawab, while ordering we asked them to make sure it to be spicy but disappointed again as the curry was very tangy and sweet.
Madras Paneer, it's comparatively better than other dishes but a strong presence of turmeric could be felt, which is making it little bitter.
Vegetable Dupiaz was ok ok.
Finally Rotis, Chapati were very hard, Garlic Naan & Tandoori Roti seemed to be instant ready made bought from ASDA rather than freshly made.
Something that is good was Papad and Chutneys.
After the first encounter with waiter we felt that the people there were not very concerned about the feedback so just left the place...
