Pepe's — Restaurant in Coventry

The day was the 21st of March 2022 and I had gone with my family to eat out at PEPE’s due to the fact that we enjoy their food however this occasion has left me speechless and gobsmacked as the treatment me and family had received was absolutely shocking and horrific.

When me and family go to any Pepes restaurant/establishments and when we order our meals we are always provided with 2 sauces however when a family member had enquired a representative who is said to be the manager and goes by name of Akhtar (Bald man with a fake beard ) had shown quite disgusting behaviour as when he was asked why he cannot provide us with two sauces he had said replied back that is the policy and you have had your say be quite.

Whilst we was eating another customer had confronted the same individual as they were not provided with the sauces for the meal the female customer had said that her daughter does not eat her meal without sauces to which the Representative akhtar replied he had served the husband and said the husband had given it back why would a customer do that if they know that their daughter won’t have it so he had fobbed the female customer off by providing her with 5 sauces and had said that he will give her a discount next time she ordered 3 meal and gets five quite appalling.

Another incident had happened as they had gotten another customers order wrong and when confronted he had said they won’t charge her ,how is that fair I am a paying customer me and my family had spent 40 pounds and all we got was 4 sauces whereas others are told they won’t be charged and will get discount and not pay for their order really quite shocking.

Finally when we had finished our meal and we were leaving my spouse had inquired the most senior staff member in order to provide feedback about the behaviour and treatment we had received to which we was introduced to the Bald MR Akhtar and he had communicated with the most shocking tone and the sarcasm he used was showing the he was not bothered with customer feedback.

We had all regretted going to that franchise and wished we went to the one on trinity street and to be honest all franchise treat us professional and are quite approaching as well. Please have...

We came in and the place was quiet no one was in there

Three staff. One behind the till and two in the kitchen. Looked all clean. Floors and tables looked clean too

We all ordered our meals and sat down to eat in

I don’t like when places charge for sauces. 50p I think was kinda steep, you do get a free sauce with the meal but only one

I had the primo chicken wasn’t overall impressed .. now the chicken was decent nice size, tasty and marinated well but the bun it was in was cold and wet. The mayo was runny and dripping out of the bun ….

Even the garlic mayo sauce. Which had no garlic in so was just mayo was very runny

The fries had a kick to them. I didn’t mind. It had lots of flavour peri peri on them too

Not much of a selection of drinks but mine tasted fine and also had no ice? Wasn’t even offered and it was hella hot outside

If the burger bun was warm and wasn’t dripping or cold there would of been an extra star

It’s ok for the money but there are lots of better and cheaper places a few mins walk up the road

In the last month, myself and my husband have ordered from here twice and both times we have requested for Go Large meals which means they are supposed to give you the drinks in the big, red cups instead of cans.

And on both occasions, the same lady tried to give us cans instead of the large, red cups.

On the first occasion, when she tried to give the cans to my husband and he told he he ordered Go Large meals, she said “I thought you would’ve preferred cans since you were taking away”

And then on the second occasion, when she tried to give cans and I told her that she was supposed to give it in the large cups, she said “oh it won’t taste nice in there”. Funnily enough, the drinks tasted as delicious as always.

I don’t know if it’s just her or the shop themselves that are trying to scam customers who pay extra to get the large option but try to give them cans instead but this is very bad.
