The Bengal Delight — Restaurant in Coventry

We live very close to Bengal delight but over 30 years I've only been there 3 times. A recent visit reminded us of why.

On the day we attended there were only 3 other guests but despite that the food took ages to come out. Oddly, the other guests were served before us despite our order being taken first. We'll give them the benefit of doubt on this though.

When the food came out there were missing items which is unacceptable considering there were only 3 other guests to attend.

When the food was served, 2 of our curries were served on a plate rather than a proper pot/bowl. If I wanted a plate I'd have gone for home delivery.

Anyway, was the food worth the wait? Highly debatable! The chicken tikka masala was overly sweet to the extent it was sickening. It was more a paste than a curry. We couldn't finish this dish. We then had a mix meat, fish, chicken curry which was advertised as very hot. To be fair, the taste was decent but it was far from hot. Instead, it was actually very mild. The sea bass dish was actually quite nice.

All in all, me and my family were far from impressed with the general service or the quality of the food. There are far better Indians in Coventry and many within a stones throw of Bengal Delight. I hope this review is taken as genuine feedback rather...

Booked the table a couple of days before the visit ( 19th October 24) thought we would.try it.as it had good reviews we arrived a little early was asked to.wait. then took round.to the back of.the restaurant was put on a table there.was (only.2 of us) the area was cramped that.we.had to move the.table backwards towards the fire exit doors ( we didn't expect this as we booked the table in advance) we got our poppadoms.that were soft/bendy then orders our mains.we.asked for chicken tika..and when food arrived it.was lamb even when they handed it to us they said it was chicken the guy come over after starting to dish meal up to say you got lamb is that ok I did say I ordered chicken as we were so hungry and couldn't be bothered to wait and argue as it would of spoilt our night even the receipt said chicken it's a shame as it had good reviews food wasn't that tasty mens toilets flush button was broken where we were sitting we were blocking the fire exit sign wasn't even attached to the light would never eat here again we do recommend the SONARGAON in cheylesmore the.food.is more.tasty..and you get what you ordered hospitality is amazing they make you...

I ordered 2 balti dishes, and I wanted them medium(hot), I later added another lamb dish of the same strength. so when I collected the order and got home, I was upset and surprised when we tasted the other dish, as it was too very hot and not fit to eat. I later rang them up to tell them what was wrong, but all I got was apology saying it won't happen again. first the receptionist tried to say no it's the same spicy strength as the other 2, but as I said no it wasn't- all he said was thanks for telling us the mistake. - no refund, or asking us if we wanted anything else was not discussed.

so I will not be using this restaurant in a hurry, not only our money was wasted, it actually ruined our...
