Kurdistan Tandoori Naan — Restaurant in Coventry

My rating is 5 stars for food, service and atmosphere. Not all takeaways and restaurants can be judged on the same scale. Each has a genre and style and must be compared to similar establishments. This is one pretty unique place in my opinion, that is truly excellent in it's products and delivery.

They don't do a lot of different things here. They specialise in freshly tandoori grilled kebabs that are wrapped in freshly hand made naan breads, cooked in real tandoori ovens... All done before your eyes, then rolled and wrapped up with or without salad and sauces of your choice; in a paper/foil sheet and delivered in your hand like a stick of dynamite! 🧨

The various combinations give a truly unique and delicious taste that will leave you crashing to come back again. The quality of the meats and how they are cooked, are usually top notch. The naan breads are spun almost like a fresh pizza base, but in the traditional method where it is massaged by hand and stretched over the back of something like a wok. Once ready, the dough is slapped onto the inside of a tandoori oven, when it clicks to perfection. Sometimes other ingredients are added into the dough, like, cheese, garlic or chilli. The results are stunning when wrapped around a lamb and a chicken kebab with a splash of yogurt and mint sauce and a chopped salad. You will regret the taste experience as being something waaaaay above that flaccid grey sandwich you had the same time last week.

Worth the trek for a lunchtime elevation. Also a wild collection of unusual and foreign refreshment drinks in the chiller on the left, Also a collection of interesting snacks, sweets and ingredients on the shelves to the right.

Decided to get some lunch from here while on a work trip after multiple recommendations from colleagues. The menu is small, simple and very affordable with pictures helping to identify what you are ordering.

I ordered a chicken kebab with salad and garlic sauce and it was very impressive to watch the staff prepare and cook the naan for the kebab. The chicken was perfectly cooked and it was overall one of the best kebabs I've had in a long time.

Great Tandoori naans stuffed with cheese spring onions or chicken tikka. They have their own unique taste and wont find that taste elsewhere in Coventry. Bit shabby looking from outside and in but don't let that fool you. Owner and staff are pleasant but usually very busy. It's the taste that brings me back here.
