Absolutely disgusted!
I've been to this pub around 3 times over 18 months and it seems to be getting drastically worse each time with last night being my final visit.
To begin, the bar staff are very rude and have no interest in wanting to serve you. The one blonde lady in particular was extremely miserable, I had to ask if she had an issue, to which she didnt even respond.
I ordered a burger meal which was at my table within 3 minutes of me sitting back down. (Im convinced this explains the sudden vomiting and diarrhoea). The individuals with me received their food around 3-4 minutes apart but also looked like re-heated dishes.
Tableware and cutlerly was as you can imagine from the quality of food, unclean but we made the best of a bad situation and had a strong talking point of the night.
No complaints were made because we'd be wasting our time judging by the level of service received at the bar. Im also not convinced my £1 parking was deducted from my round of drinks.
I hold a personal licence and I know from experience how much of an impact customer service can make on a business and its future. I feel Varsity has dropped its standards knowing its customers' are predominantly Warwick Uni students with a high turn around on an annual basis.
On the plus side, the table service girl with the glasses was very lovely and helpful.
I would not recommend this pub to anybody moving forwards and I hope they take this...
Read moreRegarding food there is only little to talk about and the staff were very unfriendly when it came to payment. After I used contactless payment, the machine didnot produce receipt as the machine ran out of peg so they asked me to do payment again. I informed the staff that it's the machine ran out of paper and there is nothing wrong with the payment, but she insisted me to make a payment again and once it appears on the bnkstatement the they will provide me the refund. I said I want to talk to the manager, I had a same chat with the manager informed him that machine ran out of paper but the payment would have gone through. To this the manager lady very reluctantly said the same thing that once it appears on your statement as a double payment they would refund me. The payment appeared on my statement 2 days later. I had to travel 5 miles again to this pub to show them the statement which was showing double payment. To this the staff says that the payment doesn't show the same date when the purchase was made, they refused to refund the monies instead asked me to contact bank for refund. It was wasted trip. What I noticed was that the staff are ready with excuses and not at all friendly. I believe in travelling an extra mile for my customers but this was horendous experience all this for just £7. Sorry for this..I have to write this..but I want people to know my Christmas breakfast...
Read moreWent in for the third time today as my previous two experiences have been fine.
Today the food was okay (other than the rump steak being very tough to chew and the portions being generally small) but the attitude of the staff was horrible. When I went to order at the bar, the woman with multiple nose rings told me the menu I wanted was unavailable, in a rude way as if I were a nuisance to her. She kept up that attitude while I ordered and made my payment; I have not seen such bad manners from staff in quite a long time.
When I went to sit at my table, another member of staff, a guy with black hair and beard, came up to say that another food menu I had ordered was also unavailable, without sounding sorry at all. We therefore ordered something else, and I had to go to the till again to pay the difference. He couldn’t make the till to work, and told me to come again after he had worked it out, whereupon I returned to my seat. He told me to come to the till again after he had served us our food, and it was his attitude of making me come and go that I found quite offensive. To clarify, it wasn’t that I had a problem with him not being able to work the till; it was his dismissive and disdainful attitude that I had a problem with. Won’t...
