First of all the service from Melvin was very good from that he was so polite, friendly and kept smiling. the service stars are for him. The Ribs were OK although could have done with a bit more sauce, the drinks were fine. Only interested in one dessert but that had sold out that night but that was fine. Now the part we were very disappointed with and why I did not give anymore than 2 stars on Service & Food, we have been using Harvester for many years including the one at Crawley Leisure Park before it closed and been pleased (despite the staffing issues there), regardless of the time in the evening if the Salad Bar is low it's always kept stocked up. The Hawth Park Inn Harvester is the first one I have to say was shocking! I understand when people visit the local Arts Centre for a show they pop in for something to eat and gets busy but after they go there is still people popping in for a good evening and get the service Harvester Offer. The Salad Bar, most of the salad, all sauce and crouton/onion bits/bacon bits/raisins/etc containers were empty and what was left in the Salad Containers didn't look very appetising. Raised this with Melvin straight away, very apologetic he went off to get it sorted but then did come back saying they won't refill them because of the time, I wasn't expecting everything to be filled right up but enough could have been put in so we were looked after. We were not the only ones who very disappointed. Management seem to be more interested in worrying about wastage at end of the night than Customer Service, or was it also laziness along with Kitchen Staff not want to replenish it either??!! Another little thing that didn't look good is seeing an off duty female member of walking into the kitchen holding in full view a bottle of cough medicine, best keep that out of view from the customers, hide in a bag or coat...
Read moreDON’T GO TO THIS RESTAURANT. VERY RUDE STAFF.
Visited the venue on the bank holiday for family lunch. We were told that only limited menu was available and given just a piece of paper with plane text WITHOUT ANY PRICES. As it was on Monday and the menu we were given just had starters and mains, we thought the weekday lunch deal was on with a fixed price. There was even a sign at the entrance promoting the lunch deal and I double checked it to see if there was bank holiday exception or something like that.
We were not even that hungry but ordered the starters and mains for each only because we thought the lunch deal is on but when we received the bill, that was when we found out the deal was not actually on.
So we first talked to our server who was very kind then she called her manager to talk to us. The manager was very rude and she blamed us for not double checking if the deal is on! WITHOUT ANY APOLOGY FOR THE CONFUSION! I was trying to explain the situation that we were only given a piece of paper menu with NO PRICE but she was like ‘so what? What do you want me to do? Are you saying you are not gonna pay for this?’ in a very bad manner.
I understand there was a misunderstanding or confusion, whatever you wanna call it but why is it the customer’s fault when the menu doesn’t state any prices?!?!?! I think it should be the restaurant’s fault because they didn’t have any clause that the deal is not on bank holidays and we were not given a proper menu with prices. Since when it’s a customer’s duty to check everything?
In the end the manager only made discounted 20% which was still significant amount more than what we thought we would pay but she was like she was doing a favour for us which really let me down.
So thanks for ruining our family gathering time. I don’t think I will visit any of the...
Read moreArrived 1.20 for 1.30 booking No one greeted us for few minutes, laptop was open with customers details on. Eventually shown to table. 20 mins later we asked a passing waitress if we could order drinks and food. She said we weren’t her area but slowly took order. No one said anything about a delay for food. At 2.10 we asked another waitress how long our food would be, she checked and said 10-15 minutes. We did tell her we weren’t impressed. 20 minutes later we asked again, apparently they were waiting for the sides to be done. About 2.45 food started to arrive, we were all hungry and stressed as had somewhere else to be. Most food was cold! Gravy was gelatinous, ribs, chicken and burgers were all cold, sweet potato fries were burnt. One meal still not served when waitress asked ‘how is everything’! We asked to spk to a manager, a lady came and said she’d give us some discount. The last meal, a nacho bean burger , finally arrived, with badly scorched bun top. When cut into the burger was cold, s p fries burnt! Myself and adult daughter went to see manager lady who was looking at our order on a screen. We complained profusely, she replied ‘sorry but we’re busy’! I informed her that was not our fault and with a diabetic in our group as well as 2 children the situation was not at all acceptable. By this time we had been there well over 2 hours! She offered to get us something else but by this time we needed to be elsewhere. I told her not to bother sorting a discount as we would be paying nothing. She eventually agreed after speaking to someone else that this was ok! This meal was a family meal for 8 as a Christmas tradition treat after seeing the pantomime. We had all had a fantastic morning but left your restaurant hungry, sad , some of us in tears. A total letdown with disgraceful...
