So we popped in for dinner to commence the start of our holiday before the airport.. We ordered the following: - Mixed Grill - A quarter of our rotisserie chicken, 4oz# rump steak, half a gammon steak, a pork sausage, a fried free-range egg, black pudding, chips, garden peas, tomato and onion rings - Half Rotisserie Chicken with Mash Both meals were fabulous, we wouldn't normally go for just a Chicken meal, however it was lovely, succulent and tasty. The mixed Grill tasted nice, a little overcooked for my liking but still enjoyable. I personally love gammon and unfortunately the piece on my plate was very small; merely my observation. The staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The chap was so attentive. The salad bar was great, always love this element, with a fresh roll and some nice salad sauces too. We would certainly return to this Harvester, a lovely place, with fabulous service and good food. This made a great start to our holiday. Totally recommend

WINNER OF MOST STUPID COVID RULE!! Harvester take the prize for the most ridiculous covid rule with their self-service salad policy. Despite hundreds of buffets across the country now open with normal service, Harvester are not allowing guests to get their own salad. Instead you stand at the salad bar and tell a waiter what you would like - this waiter is not wearing any gloves or face covering and is touching more surfaces than any guest! If anything this makes it worse and more dangerous to spreading covid! Oh but don't worry, everyone is welcome to get their own refillable drinks! Whoever comes up with this rules needs their head looked at! Decent enough service on our visit there today as a party of six though, effecient and friendly waiting staff with fresh food which was well cooked and delicious!

So so disappointing. Had lunch there today, service was really really slow, long wait to be served then another long wait for food to arrive. Salad bar not refreshed very quickly so had to ask for the basics like lettuce and tomatoes. Other items like coleslaw, cucumber, pasta were not available as they had apparently run out of them.....at lunch time....I pity those dining later in the evening? Waited a long time for our drinks and eventually had to ask again for them. Mine was a refreshing Lime and Mint soda in a nice glass full of ice made with fresh mint as pictured and described on the menu. When it arrived though it was a very different picture in an ordinary glass, very little ice, no lime and no mint! When I queried it they said it was due to supplier issues? Really.... basics like mint and Ice?? We had children with us and many of the items on the children's menu were not available either. Food did eventually arrive and was OK but rather mediocre, for the same price we have eaten so much better elsewhere. This was the first visit back to a Harvester after many years and definitely the last. Very poor experience from walking in to walking out. So sad and we felt sorry for the waitresses who have to face the customers with such poor offerings.

Had a terrible experience here tonight I'm sad to say. I'm very upset that we've spent so much money to be disappointed in such grand fashion. Order didn't go through so we had to wait longer, however the guy who was seemingly in charge of the bar was very apologetic and did offer us drinks for which we were very thankful. When the food came, it was bland, overcooked and you can tell no love goes into these meals. Brocolli was dark and limp, the melted camembert sharing starter only had three pieces of bread to dip into the cheese between two of us, for the price we expected much more. Jacket potato was overcooked and basically not a single one of us finished our meals or even got close, even though we were hungry. The only good thing about our experience here came from the seemingly genuine and apologetic guy at the bar. Food was just awful. Oh and to add to it I had a hair in my food. I didn't want to complain as the nice guy was clearly having a terrible time with everything going wrong.

Being a harvester fan I am always looking to explore different locations but the similar food. We went to this Harvester for Sunday dinner. As we entered we were asked to put on the masks which was fair enough. And then we were escorted to our booked table as most of the restaurant had vacant tables the waitress asked us to sit on the table which was right next to the a table already occupied by another family. Then we asked her doesn't this affect social distancing and she said No (in a very unfriendly way). We ordered the food and food wasn't even that nice, gravy looked liked it had been in the pot for years and jacket potato was horrible too. To make Our visit even worse the table service was bad and none of the waiters were willing to serve hence they were just passing ignoring us. Not a good experience.
