I’ve eaten in a lot of hotel bars and got the beer gut to prove it. Shark Club however takes the trophy for best overall without being accompanied by the pretentious overpricing that seems to have swept this nation like a plague of money grabbing locusts. Good selection of bar snacks and main meals, with cocktails and soft drinks. Always a spare table and food doesn’t make you age a year whilst it arrives. Breakfast served here in the mornings is pretty good as well, so worth booking with your room. Staff excellent, attentive and flush with recommendations- especially Jacey who takes the time to chat with all the guests, swanning between tables with the easy camaraderie of a Hooters waitress. Don’t tell her I wrote that though. Restaurant entrance by the weird horse with the lamp on its head, that’s not a typo see photo below

Rip off £16.50 for a shark burger and chips. Burger isn't massive. Small pot of tomatoe sauce and mayo. Which isn't enough for the size of the portion of chips. They don't come and ask you if you are happy with your meal or they can get you anything. Place isn't busy at 19:00 Saturday can see why. When you go to pay they add on a service charge which isn't mentioned so £18.56 for burger chips and a glass of tap water. Expensive rip off. Won't use this restaurant again left still hungry!

My wife and I ordered tea for 2 and fish and chips each, the service was very good, but my god the chips were pathetically thin splinters of potatoes, to call them chips was stretching it a bit... the fish was nice but what a measley sized cod it was, if that what it was? We managed to get 3/4 of a cup of tea each out of the ridiculously small pot, to add insult to injury the whole meal set me back nearly £35 ! This will be the last time we use this restaurant if we stay in this hotel.

Came in for a late night dinner. Place was not at all busy, at most 10-20% chairs filled. When the appetizer came, we didn’t have any utensils and napkins. Then utensils came after we asked for it, but no napkins. We ordered drinks but nothing came. I had to get up and get our glasses of water from the bar. Then we had to remind the waitress about our missing drinks. Then the drinks came and then the main course. The food was just ok.

The people working at this restaurant seem very nice. However, the service was terrible and the quality of the food isn’t all that great. Almost 60£ for...

I found the service to be very rude. To start with, we were ignored (twice) when trying to place an order. The staff are extremely ignorant and found more pleasure in playing with a dog by the bar rather than serving customers. When we asked for the bill, the server simply produces a card reader for us to tap our card, no bill provided beforehand. Having lived in Newcastle, I have always had very high expectations from Shark Bar as this is a place I would frequent especially on Wing Wednesdays but I don’t think I will...
