Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Crawley

THIS REVIEW IS MEANT FOR THE COSTA NEAR THE ENTRANCE TO THE COUNTY MALL IN CRAWLEY (NOT TESCO)

As a customer of Costa in various Costa shops in crawley during the week atleast 3-4 times a week and spending around £20 each time, I'd regard myself as a regular customer in the know and should be viewed by Costa as valued right???, WRONG,

This particular Costa shop has gone down hill in terms of staff level, Friendly service, staff ability and their overall customer service and ability to communicate in good English, on top of that the location attracts the usual undesirable types, beggars, chancers and rather chavvy types, but it was tolerable when the old manager was there and staff believed in good efficient friendly service, now the drinks are half measures but not half price, staff believe in service without a smile, toilets are disgusting and clearly nobody cleans them or checks apart from opening and closing, prices keep going up whilst value, quality and service go down

Don't get me wrong I'm happy to pay for a good product with good service but this particular store doesn't have either,

The manager there will know ive written this and I don't care because he should be embarissed, this store let's homeless people hang around begging from customers, they mess up the toilets and homeless people come in and ask for free water which they are given no issue, I as a working disabled person pay my full price and often have to ask 'can you fill my cup' short measures disgrace often, the staff think it's OK to do this and get moody when asked for actual value and what I've paid for, my drink often costs over £4 for a medium, I have issues with my hands to carry so I ask for a large cup with a medium drink in so I don't burn myself, it's a constant issue to get a large cup and a bit more hot water so I don't get burnt and get my full drink,

Today I was refusedva large cup and a bit more hot water,???? So I burnt myself later on and didn't get my drink topped up for an extertioate cost, but it's OK Costa this store would rather give free drinks to pests, homeless and beggers instead of paying disabled customers that struggle and are refused a bit of kindness, but I'm sure the undesirable people that don't pay will keep the store open right??? WRONG, I was so annoyed with the awful service today and usually it's bad but today was worse Because the manager backed up the miserable girl serving me by saying ' ' no he can't give me a large cup and a bit more hot water apparently he's been told off for doing i', who told him off he's the bloody manager and I'm a regular customer not a work shy taker that has all day to beg, harass and bother working people,

So the male manager backed up the miserable poorly trained girl server, I was refused by a morbid looking eastern European girl that has an awful attitude, no manners, rude, short and clearly deserves to be working for whatever they pay in her own country with her rubbish service, she doesn't deserve a job and really isn't cut out for customer facing work and the manager at this store, well he disgraced himself by backing her and will be dealt with when I put my formal complaint in as high as I can go because I felt very shocked, powerless, insulted by today's visit, other Costa stores always give me a larger cup and a bit more hot water, so I can only imagine it's not policy but actually personal against me because of this so I have to defend myself by putting in a formal complaint against this store and ALL it's shortcomings in...

I like the fact that there is the Costa Cofee in store, and the fact that the prices (or many items including Coffees and toasted sandwiches) are actually priced cheaper that say the Costa Coffee in Next. e.g. Chicken and Bacon toastie is £3.50 in Tesco Costa, while it's £4.05 in Next Costa. However, I found that the staff while generally are well trained, recently come across as too busy and/or with the attitude of 'can't be bothered to give that little extra like a smile and a polite service', and now come across into the Starbucks staff mentality of get them served and get them out of here with the least amount of work and customer service possible. Its is a shame as I love Costa, but all their outlets in Crawley are slowly deteriorating in their happy/friendly service I have been used to in the past. Other than the above, the food and drinks are always good IMHO and you cant go wrong with the choices available. Just bare in mind that if you 'Costa' in a shop rather than a stand alone Costa outlet, then expect to pay a little more for your stuff. All in all I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the lack of friendly happy service me and my family have been given...

I visited this coffee shop last week and was disgusted and upset at the bully who was running the place, at one point she nearly made a counter assistant cry because of her bullish attitude, the bully concerned was I believe it was a foreign lady wiith long blonde hair this was a Saturday and she spoke and upset two of the girls on the counter. I will never use this place again, there is no need in fact it is a offence to treat people like this and I would advise any staff there to make a complaint to the Employment Tribunal. I did report this to the Tesco duty manager and I hope action has been taken. This is not good for Tesco’s reputation. Look out for the bully if you visit there you...
