Creams is a terrible place – largely because I could quite happily live there for the rest of my life (and therefore probably be dead within a fortnight). If, like me, your weakness is a ‘sweet tooth’ then dessert-based diner, aka ‘Creams’ will look as good to you as it does to me.
The menu has everything a sugar-addict could dream of (and even a few that they’ve never heard of!). There are all sorts of ice cream sundaes and waffles packed with every kind of chocolate combination dreamed up. I’ve been there a few times in the last few months (I’m really trying not to make too much of a habit of my visits there!) and they keep adding extras to the menu to keep it fresh.
It’s never that busy in the Hemel high street branch, but then I’ve only ever been there during the day, so I’m guessing ‘peak’ times such as Friday or Saturday would mean there was more of a wait. I’ve never had a problem getting a seat and you have to then go to the counter to place your order once you know your table number. The staff are decent enough and it probably depends on who you get as to how much input they put into your experience. There’s also charging ports for your electrical devices in the main booths, so if you have your lead handy you can get a little top up there. It always seems clean and tidy inside, although the doors are normally open which can make it a little cold in there during the winter (but then you’re probably going to order an ice cream, so you’re already prepared for a bit of a chill!).
The drinks are your basic soft drinks and coffees, plus milkshakes made from ice cream. The menu is perfect if you want to give yourself a naughty little treat or a personal reward and the ‘gelato’ (which is basically a posh word for expensive ice cream) is definitely worth ordering once scoop of simply to try out new flavours. I hardly have to tell anyone that it probably wouldn’t be a good thing to eat there every day, but once in a while there’s no harm in a...
Read moreI woke up today with positive plans to take the kids to creams then today. I've arrived the customer services was rubbish the lady saw i had kids and didn't come over to ask us what we wanted I asked her if she would come over as I did not want to leave my children unattended she explained the card machine does not stretch over to the other side of the room due to service. Moving on swiftly I gave her my order asked her about the chicken and waffles wether or not if this was nice etc etc she was not forthcoming in the end I specifically asked her for two pancakes each for my kids and I'll take chicken and waffles with a hot chocolate.... Please tell me why she only bought over the pancakes and hot chocolate I was sat there for another 10 minutes then walked over and asked for the chicken and waffles she said what chicken and waffles....At the end she really pissed me off made the chicken and waffles with bits of the waffles missing and the chicken was inside it looked nothing like what was being advertised her whole vibe was off I dont understand how she got the order wrong creams wasn't busy at 13:25pm on a wednesday afternoon i requested a refund and just picked up my two kids and left I'm not going to say she was being covertly racist but it definitely felt that way nor am I going to name her she knows exactly who she is and I'll never be going back there again first...
Read moreWent to creams on Monday afternoon, when I got to the till the told me they were having issues with one of their card machines and ask I tried the over so I did, it didn't work and the lady just stood there staring at me as if I was supposed to come up with the answer...I know what should be done in this situation but as the customer I didn't feel it was my place. They should of had a sign up to say no card cash only sorry for any inconvience. The manager then turned up to try sort the issue, along with two other girls. I have had training at this creams store and also work in kitchens so I'm aware of how health and safety works. The manager and the two girls were working with their hair down, no hair net or hat which is part of PPE. Me and my friend had ordered when there was only one other table in and a waffle that takes 3 minutes to cook somehow took around 15/20 minutes to arrive to us to which they then forgot our milkshakes which when they came didn't taste like kidern beuno but coffee. Awful service, hasn't improved at all. Need...
