Can't quite believe this gem is hidden in Hemel Hempstead town. Food and service exceptional. Great ambiance. Highly recommended
Second visit We were really looking forward to taking our daughter and, soon to be, son in law to Opuz for a Saturday night celebration meal We were warmly greeted, seated, drinking and tucking into our scrummy platter when the spell was broken. A man with a tripod and camera set up shop facing through our area to further back in the restaurant. This was irritating enough. Soon after loud brash music boomed out accompanied by a feathered scantilly clad 'dancer'. Well that put us right off our meal. Talk about intrusive. Completely shattered the ambience. We asked a waitress 'just what is going on and how long this would last. She said about an hour. We asked to speak to the manager. The waitress spoke to the manager who dismissed her and ignored our request. Having watched this happen I again requested to speak to the manager, my wife was really annoyed, angry. The manager reluctantly came over. My wife quizzed him. Why was this spectacle not mentioned either when she booked the the table or when we arrived. He was far from apologetic and brushed her off with some limp excuses. Twice more tacky dancers, the last one a fire eater, 'performed' before we had finished our, by now, rather spoilt family meal. My wife was seething. We paid up and left collaring the manager on the way out. Still no apology, no compensation, we paid in full. Don't get me wrong we are not prudish but it would have been polite to inform us, customers, prior to our meal what was planned for the evening. It came as a total surprise and not a good one. The food was excellent but our evening was totally spoilt. I advise potential customers to check before committing especially those with young families. Alpha males will no doubt enjoy the seedy 'lap dancing' spectacle. I don't believe that it's not suitable for the fairer sex either... Obviously I don't recommend and doubt we'll return unless we receive a full apology and some form of...

He escorted us to our table and made arrangements for my disabled mother to access her chair. I then proceeded to the restrooms.
A restaurant’s bathrooms are often a reliable indicator of its overall quality, and this establishment exceeded all expectations. The restrooms were immaculate, clean, and exuded an excellent aroma.
The service we received at this restaurant was exceptional. I ordered the salmon steak, which was prepared to perfection. My sister and others were served delectable dishes that they highly recommended.
Upon returning, I informed the manager that it was my sister’s 60th birthday. He responded by informing me that I should have mentioned it during the reservation. I promptly said, I did when I made the reservation. He said please wait and personally brought a lovely cake adorned with flowing dry ice and accompanied by a song of “Happy Birthday.” This gesture made the experience truly unforgettable. At the end of our meal… 😜❤️😍
My sister expressed her desire to cover the bill. I contacted the manager and inquired whether I should pay the bill or if my sister should do so. He kindly advised me that I should pay the bill. I honored his request and left a generous tip.
I must admit that I eagerly anticipate returning to this restaurant. If you seek exceptional food at an affordable price, this five-star establishment offers an unparalleled dining experience, ensuring that all patrons are treated with respect and dignity.

Read moreI had a birthday meal at Opuz Kitchen Hemel Hempstead tonight with 24 people and it was extremely disappointing to say the least. The food was good and the decor is nice. However they were the only good things.
The staff were extremely rude, boss included. When 3people brought cakes in to surprise me, my nieces were told it’s not the kitchen’s responsibility if anything goes wrong with the cupcakes. Who does that!
The manager was asked to bring out cupcakes so everyone can sing happy birthday and the cupcakes were just placed in the table in front of the me. Two people asked for an opportunity to place candles on the cake and were denied the opportunity. Then the happy birthday song was played randomly whilst a member of staff then lit the candles in front of me!
Then when my party of people sang happy birthday because it all went horribly wrong. The staff were taking payment in the middle of people singing happy birthday and trying to take pictures and videos of me. Which I have added a pic of the video didn’t want to put others faces on there, what a shambles.
Not to mention the music kept going on and off. My daughter ordered a drink and asked for it 5times, only be ignored for over 45mins, then others had to ask for it. The staff service and attitude was truly disgusting.
I have been to eat at Opuz Kitchen in Watford which is amazing food, atmosphere, music & great customer service. I must add I have never had to write a bad review but this was absolutely terrible, I hope they do better for...
