I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Marchmont Arms, and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. From the moment I stepped foot inside, I was greeted with warm smiles and a cozy ambiance that set the perfect tone for the evening.
Let me begin by praising our waitress, Sidney. Her exceptional service went above and beyond all expectations. Sidney greeted us with genuine enthusiasm, and her friendly demeanor made us feel instantly welcome. She took the time to patiently guide us through the menu, answering all our questions and providing insightful recommendations tailored to our preferences. Sidney's attentiveness throughout the evening was commendable, as she anticipated our needs and ensured that our dining experience was nothing short of remarkable.
Now, let's delve into the culinary delights that graced our palates. We started with the Sticky Chicken as a starter, and it was absolutely divine. The tender chicken pieces were coated in a sticky, finger-licking sauce that had just the right balance of sweetness and tanginess. Each bite was a burst of flavor that left us wanting more.
For the main course, I opted for The Dirty Burger, and it was a true masterpiece. The juicy beef patty was cooked to perfection, topped with melted cheese, crispy bacon, and a tangy barbecue sauce that added a delightful kick. The burger was nestled between a soft, toasted bun and served with a side of golden fries. Every element of this burger was thoughtfully crafted, resulting in a mouthwatering explosion of flavors.
One of my dining companions decided to try the Chicken and Bacon Salad, and it was a refreshing and satisfying choice. The salad was a beautiful medley of crisp greens, tender grilled chicken, crispy bacon bits, and a zesty dressing that tied it all together. The combination of textures and flavors was simply delightful, making it a perfect option for those seeking a lighter yet fulfilling meal.
Throughout our meal, the staff at the Marchmont Arms ensured that we had a memorable experience. The attention to detail extended beyond the food, as the ambiance was carefully curated to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The decor blended modern elegance with rustic charm, creating a space that was both stylish and comfortable.
In conclusion, my visit to the Marchmont Arms was an absolute delight. From the exceptional service provided by Sidney to the mouthwatering culinary creations that graced our table, every aspect of the dining experience was executed with impeccable finesse. If you're seeking a restaurant that serves incredible dishes like The Dirty Burger and delicious salads like the Chicken and Bacon Salad, along with outstanding service, look no further than the Marchmont Arms. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to anyone in search of an unforgettable...
Read moreBeautiful setting, lovely helpful friendly french server, sorry i don't remember her name. A party of 9 most enjoyed the Mother's day set menu which had many add on extras. I opted for the Chateaubriand for 2 and was extremely disappointed at the quantity and quality, it was the worse 'Chateaubriand' i have ever encountered only distinguished as Chateaubriand fillet by a slight thicker cut than the beef presented on the normal roast and only 4 slices each costing an extra £16 for the privilege. The whole thing was very average, lots of the roast potatoes were hard and had obviously been cooked hours before. Had this been my first experience of Chateaubriand it was also cold, no way would i have it ever again. It has always before now with anywhere else that i have had it, it has been presented at the table as the whole fillet which any other time I have struggled to eat it all which actually has always justified the extra expense. I did ask the server to tell the manager or chef that this was a poor example of Chateaubriand and all we got back was, "well nobody else complained " so he basically refused to acknowledge our complaint. i feel the customer service matched the inadequate overpriced and over rated beef steak, that only vaguely resembled a Chateaubriand. If you have never had Chateaubriand and this was your first experience you would never know how nice it can actually be and would probably never try it again. Extortionate! Very...
Read moreCame here with my family for Sunday lunch one sunny autumn afternoon.
2 of us ordered the trio of meats and 1, the roast rib of beef.
Costing £17.95 for a 1 course roast, I was anticipating an Instagrammable beauty on a plate with a taste to match.
Don’t get me wrong , the food was okay but that’s as far as I’d go.
I had literally 1 teeny slice of beef(not exaggerating) a small slice of pork and a small chicken leg.
I was waiting for the vegetables to arrive as I could only see the meat, 3 potatoes, a Yorkshire that covered a third of the plate with a cooked apple in it and some bread sauce.
None arrived.
No veg! No carrots , greens or cauliflower.
If you really like your veg with the roast , I’d think twice at coming here.
There were a few other issues with the drinks order but nothing terrible had the roast been great.
I give 3 stars 🌟 for the venue, as it’s situated inside a lovely former country mansion so the place looks very nice.
I also thought the food was Okay and not bad BUT definitely not worth £17.95.
What I’d say to management if they truly care to hear customer comments is , please be generous with your veg, put a sharing veg bowl on the table so ppl can help themselves, be a tad more generous with the meat OR please reduce the prices.
Unfortunately I won’t...
