NEVER AGAIN

Well, where do I start. I thought I would order me and my partner food from here on her birthday. When calling up, the chap on the other line couldn’t understand what I was asking. Then I wanted to pay by card, we went through it twice and he was obviously getting my details wrong as it was declining so I thought I would save him the trouble and go get the cash out. CALL ENDS.

1 hour and 20 later, the food arrives by a man who tells me he doesn’t know how much the food is. I tell him, they told me it was 31 pound but here have 33 for good gesture. (Bearing in mind I used to love saffron)

We tuck in, and it seems to be going well, I get to the bottom of my Jalfrezi and I find a big chunk of sharp metal in my food. I chip my tooth. My partner says I should let them know but I didn’t want to cause fuss. But I thought I would let them know, so when I call they become very dismissive and not one sorry just an enjoy your night.

The next day, I get a call back. And it’s the guy who originally took my order; and is shouting the phone at me as if I’m playing a game and I’m making it up. So instead of actually apologising and saying won’t happen again, they blame me! And yelling that I didn’t pay, and that I need to clear my bill. Once I told him I had a ring doorbell his tune changed. I feel he was doing this to disregard anything I was saying about the metal I found. Horrible horrible people.

This was my favourite place and I’m quite frankly heartbroken. I’m going to trading standards to...

Went here Wednesday booked table weeks ago booked for 6 30 was not let in until 6 45 that was OK there is pandemic and it is expected . The restaurant was packed when we were taken to our tables waiters hurried past us ok a restaurant but they should have waited also people that went out or the toilet walked into you as the gap between table and gangway was so narrow . They were so rushed they got our drink order wrong asked for the lemonade to go in it 20 minutes later warm and flat one of our party had lemonade a pint 2 or 3 pound and was flat and warm . I know it was a hot day but at that price cooled it should have been . Waited 1 hour for food when it came bland and cold and hardly any flavour. The waiter was very stressed and when we asked for more drinks he walked off served someone else then came back and joked don't let me go away again later found out this was the manager he was so stressed and over worked it was not a nice dining experience the final thing he said to us was look at my queues outside they are waiting to come in ,one way of making us leave quickly so we were not offered a drink my reply was if we did not wait 1hour maybe we would have left on time it worked out we had about 45minutes of eating time . Will not be going back...

Saffron, the Indian restaurant, left me thoroughly impressed with its excellence in both cuisine and service. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed by every server, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. A special shoutout to Sham, whose extraordinary service went above and beyond. He crafted the "Sham Special" for my girlfriend, tailoring it to her desire for something spicy. His personalized touch added an extra layer of care to our dining experience.

Now, let's talk about the food - it was nothing short of amazing. Every bite, from the flavorful starters to the sumptuous main courses and sides, was a culinary delight. The richness and depth of flavors showcased the culinary expertise of the chefs at Saffron. The menu truly offered a journey through Indian cuisine, leaving me thoroughly satisfied.

The combination of fantastic service, courtesy of Sham, and the extraordinary quality of the food make Saffron a standout choice for anyone seeking an authentic and delightful Indian dining experience. I would highly recommend Saffron to anyone who appreciates not just a meal, but a culinary adventure. I look forward to returning to savour more of their...

The Saffron was recommended to us by the friends we were visiting but I'm not convinced. We turned up at 10pm on Saturday but was seated straight away. Tables were spotless. Ordered Chicken Chat for starters but this was clearly made with cheap tinned tomatoes as it was so acidic. I had to smother mine in mint yoghurt. Then I had Chicken Dopiaza and it had no spices in it that I could taste. The chicken hadn't been cooked in the bland onion sauce. Basically I imagine they stir fried chunky onions, threw is some ready cooked chicken and poured over some bland flavourless sauce (look at all of the onions). My husband's Mixed Balti must of had a similar treatment and it tasted of tomatoes and little else. The service however was pretty good except toward the end when our waiter just pulled the table cloth from under our drinks before we even had time to look at the dessert menu. Over all I thought the service was very good and I have taken the trouble to write this review because I think the owners do care they just need to add a little spice as it doesn't cost much and would make the food lovely.
