Old Bell — Restaurant in Dacorum

Went there for Sunday lunch earlier today and have never seen anything like what got served to us . The meat looked questionable that it was even fit for human consumption. I ordered the duo and ended up having to give the turkey to my wife as she refused to eat the beef it looked that bad . I ate one slice as I’m braver than her but it really was absolutely disgusting. It looked brown not pink in the middle as explained it was served in the menu . It looked like it had been reheated many times and potentially in a microwave. Just the worsed ever . It made me feel sick for the 2 hour drive home . I wasnt sick but I think the thought of it was just making me feel ill . I’m gobsmacked that green king would serve food like this . They seriously need to watch no one gets poorly serving meat like that . And at £14 a person you would expect the meals be decent enough . Very poor standard for a chain like...

We went to dine in Old Bell through a recommendation. Before we went in we had a little walk around as Hemel is beautiful area ! Matter of fact, the day we chooses to came in was day when there was Netflix series shooting so we had a bit of surprise to see couple of famous people ! Staff was amazing, all of them were nice polite and helpful. Table was ready above the standard we expected so that made our stay a bit more enjoyable. Food was delicious, service was really fast but most importantly, staff kept us busy by interacting with us so time really flies. Special thumbs up to the Chef Luke ! Amazing cooking skills, great presentation. Pub manager Russ was really good, talkative. Loved his relationship with other I guess regular customers. We will definitely come back !!! Well...

I can assure you my review is not based solely on the response below. On several occasions, the place has let me down. Just to enumerate a few: I've been sat down with my friends at a table in the rain as the covered ones were "booked" (even though no one came to sit there by the time we left), on another occasion, on your terrace the wind blew off an umbrella hitting my kid (why not secure them properly?) and adding to that, Simon's attitude is appalling. Please remind him it's not him paying for my drinks and food so there's no need for the miserable approach. The rest of the staff are actually friendly so given that I'll change my rating.
