Beaumonts of Ashbourne. Straight away, you feel welcome. Staff was very friendly and the new member of the staff was brilliant. Inside and out are beautiful. Lots to choose from A fabulous full English breakfast To Naughty, stunning yummy cakes 🎂 I have to say the sausages are amazing and I can honestly say they are lovely very meaty. I really couldn't fault the food at all. I had water to drink as I don't normally drink anything else apart from an early morning coffee. Again very friendly and was happy serving just water as a drink. People may ask why I mention this as some places are funny about serving water. It came as a surprise to be offered to sit outside or in. From the front door it looks small but once inside, it's stunning. I will return and definitely somewhere I'd be happy to take my friends and family. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 Thank you Emma

Nice food. Poor service! Having approached the cafe/ restaurant from the unappealing weed ridden back entrance, we sat on an outside table which was pleasant enough. More weeds sprouting from every corner you looked and a set of stairs leading to who knows where next to a ramshackle timber stairs leading to the place. After finding our way through the place to the bar the staff barely cracked a smile (twice) whilst taking our order for both drinks and food. The staff didn’t bother with a check-back to see if the food was ok. And other than over-seasoned fries the meal was ok. Chicken Chilli salad was a bit of a letdown in salad variety. Lettuce, cucumber, tomato and pepper. Perhaps hospitality training required and a trip to the greengrocers

Fabulous independent café. Cosy, friendly staff, great menu of cafe classics and local favourites, reasonable prices. Good tea, coffee and hot chocolate selection, lovely cakes, also milkshakes, hot toddies, beers etc. I had the Yorkshire pudding Christmas wrap (pigs in blankets, stuffing, cranberry sauce and gravy in a folded Yorkie) - delicious, arrived quickly, couldn't finish it! Kitchen closes at 3pm. Limited parking available on the Market Square opposite (check it's not a market day) otherwise in Sainsbury's, the co-op, or council car parks. Either pay and display or pay by phone.

We did not know if we should laugh or cry after visiting yesterday,I will try and explain! Our visit was on Saturday afternoon and there we not a lot of customers. There were however a lot of staff who somehow manged to look busy without achieving a lot. It took ages for us to be asked if we were ready to order. When we ask about a couple of the items on the staff member replied, "I don't know anything about them". We took a chance and ordered the Derbyshire oatcake and a slice of cake with two teas. Cue another long wait before the next quirky surprise. The oatcake arrived from the kitchen without any cutlery before the cake and teas arrived. When we asked for some cutlery were we told it would come with the tea and cake. Cue another long wait, oatcake getting cold, we asked the staff when they would arrive, I will see what I can do was the response before walking off to have a chat with another staff member. Meanwhile, table of ladies next to us had the same strange cutlery experience and asked one of the staff for some serviettes. The staff member returned with one, when the ladies asked for some more, "We have run out".

In summary, splendidly shambolic, with average food, and a unique service style. To paraphrase Winston Churchill, never has so little been achieved by so many. Hilarious 24 hours later but...

Appalling. I can't see how the place has 4.4 on here 😳 we hadn't tried this place before I took the Mrs and daughter for breakfast this morning. We had a full monty breakfast which came with budget everything. Sausages that tasted as if they had been frozen for approximately 3 years. I would have to give some sort of award for the tiniest most tasteless hash brown I've ever eaten. Positives bacon was okay, beans I would imagine this how much a ration is in a UK prison. We then had a cheese and tomato panini that was under-toasted. We then paid for a child's meal for my daughter 4.95 for a jam sandwich. This was equally as bad the presentation of everything was terrible. Coffee was okay and juice fine. When I arrived at the till and paid the bill of over 30 pounds, I couldn't help but feel I'd just consumed 50pences worth of ingredients from Aldi and been charged a massive mark up. The images on previous reviews look nothing like how the food looks now. Wait staff were helpful, shame the kitchen let them down....

We went to have a nice meal on our Anniversary, just to do something different. We read the menu displayed outside and we thought we could have an English breakfast as we were on time for it. I have requested not to have the baked beans with it and perhaps instead one more slice of bacon? The restaurant wasn’t busy when we arrive at 12.20 and it was a Wednesday. Despite that, it took 50 minutes for our food to arrive. On the plate no mushrooms as they should have been served, no extra bacon at all. We ordered a pot of tea with our meal and on the table there was just 1 sachet ( 1 tablet) of sweetener and no white sugar. I went to ask for more sweetener and some white sugar and I’ve been given 2 sachets of sweetener and 2 of sugar for a teapot for two people! Not one member of staff asking us if everything was ok and if we needed anything. Overpriced for the food we’ve eaten which was nothing special but just ordinary. I am definitely not going back and I will for sure stick to the usual art...
