Called into the Bowling Green for Sunday lunch .As it was around 3pm we enquired if the roast dinners were still being served and was informed that it was still on the menu. The menu stated roast and mashed potatoes. When the dinner arrived we had three small what like boiled potatoes on the plate. The potatoes a green ting to them carrots were cold and full of water, the rest of the vegetables were good including the meat however the gravy was very lunpy. When I asked where the roast and mashed potatoes were we were informed no mash and they had forgotten the roast ones The waiter then returned with roast potatoes and said he had forgottenthem as they were in the oven. I really wished I had not eaten the dinner but did not want to spoil my daughters dinner as she was hungry. This is the first time I used the Inn and...
Read moreAlways visit here when staying at ashbourne and up till now always enjoyed the meals and the quaint pub and atmosphere.we have been having meals here for the last 6 or 7 years.thought would update my previous review as really didn't feel the same on our last visit. Having ordered food for 4 people only 1 starter we were left waiting over an hour for 1 baked camenbert which isn't a complicated dish to prep. OK so long wait anticipated the main course.half an hour later they arrived so an hour and half 3 of us were waiting for food😬steaks were not cooked to the usual delicious standards and the t bone was verging on raw.however my daughter was happy to eat it so didn't send back to the kitchen.dirty scoop fries were great as usual.noboddy came to the table for drinks or to check if everything was OK.we didn't bother with dessert as didn't know how long the wait would be for that either. Left feeling really dissapointed and sadly probably won't visit again having been visiting since the last owner built it up into a great...
Read moreWe stayed in stables ashbourne so we had our dinner and breakfast there.
The breakfast there was amazing, I had a real crispy beacon eventually in UK. The pancake was also firm and smell nice with egg flavor.

The lemon tart had not flavor of lemon. The crust part of the lemon was a bit raw. The worst part was the raspberry jam on the tart that overrides any lemon taste, if there was any.
Personally, I am not fan of cream brulee with too much fruit on it. Again, it override the original taste of the cream...
