Nice but disappointingly over priced! We came here looking for a nice place to have a cuppa on a wet day. Ended up disappointed and left wishing they were doing it better. We had two teas, a long time before out food arrived.(£2.50 each) When the food arrived, Breakfast bacon muffin (£5.50) & Mushrooms with spinach on toast (£6.00) This is where the real disappointment begins.. Firstly the Breakfast muffin was tiny, a slice of bacon and a fried egg! £5.50!! Really.. Nothing else just that for a 'over priced breakfast muffin' The mushrooms and spinach didn't fare too well either, 2x slices granary toast, 3x small mushrooms sliced up, handful of spinach. Not even seasoned. £6.00 please!!! We would normally have cake, but at £4.50 a slice of Bakewell tart, Carrot cake, Brownie, scone, jam and cream.. we decided against it.. £16.50 for a very over priced, under supplied product. The staff were polite, it's clean and has a modern feel, but over charging for you get (or don't) is what ruins a place like this.. Go for tea, just don't eat! Unless you're looking at...
Read moreTook my mother for afternoon tea... I wish I hadn’t bothered! Yes the sandwiches were tasty but as for everything else, well read this and then you decide whether or not you go. I had booked the table but we had a 45 minute wait before getting our food... the tea had arrived 15 mins earlier so was cold I had to askfor more hot water. My mother had a glass of prosecco but wasn’t offered tea as well as. We were only allowed 2 sandwich fillings ( between us not each). I asked for a plain scone as I don’t like sultanas but was told they don’t do them and there aren’t many sultanas so just pick them out! We had 2 slices of Bakewell tart and 2 slices of chocolate tart which we brought home.... The price for this £21.00 I bet you’re thinking well that’s not bad BUT what about EACH? We could have had a sit down meal and a glass of prosecco and a cup of tea EACH. There wasn’t even a tablecloth on the table. I won’t be going again, there are much nicer places that offer far better value for money. VERY...
Read moreI was out with my two young children feeding the ducks and playing on the park in Tickhill, when we were looking for somewhere to have lunch. We were quite wet and muddy so I was a bit apprehensive about going into a cafe for food but I’m so glad we did - we were welcomed by the most lovely woman who went out of her way to shuffle tables around for the pram and the staff were so friendly that I relaxed straight away. They had children’s cutlery etc and both me and my toddler enjoyed a nice lunch whilst my baby enjoyed watching the other customers in this popular little cafe. We will definitely...
