Lotties Coffee & Wine Bar — Restaurant in Doncaster

My wife and myself called in at lunch time for a coffee. My wife who has a wheat intolerance fancied a bit to eat so she enquired if they had anything gluten free. The waiter explained to my wife what was available and she chose a fish finger sandwich. I order the same from the normal menu both priced at £6.95. when our plates were placed in front of us, mine consisted of two sandwiches with four fish fingers and a side salad, however my wife's only had one small sandwich with only two fish fingers! I mentioned this to the lady inside saying that my wife was gluten free and not on a diet! The lady then replied that she didn't want to over face my wife! I couldn't believe it! Tremendous café / bar. Most welcoming staff I have ever come across anywhere I’ve been in the world. Moved to Tickhill November 2021 and have been here a few times a month ever since. Always make you feel welcome to be there. Food is glorious especially considering that tiny kitchen they’re working in. Long list of options available with varying specials also on offer. Lisa’s baking is 11/10 and it’s a struggle to turn down one of those brownies or cakes available. Café itself is cosy and always has great jazz music playing to fit the chilled out atmosphere. Outside is the beautiful patio area surrounded by the season’s foliage and flowers. Had a few weekend evenings here too with live music and booze. Went to Lotties on Saturday for Mum's birthday with my sister. The staff were very friendly and genuinely pleased to see you. I had a fish finger sandwich (took me back to my childhood) and it was fab. Presentation, service all excellent.
