Absolute scam parking outside Greggs. £100 fine for buying a coffee! No sign to say can't park. Parking company say landlord won't let them put signs up on that side! Typical British injustice that they are allowed to get away with this. An old picture but this is the lay-by to avoid.

First off I use Different Gregg's all the time due to driving round with my car recovery truck and nearly all the time I come away with a decent sandwich and a hot drink I've called at White rose gate Gregg's now on 4 different occasions and they never have any baguette left, surly management should think we need to make more ??? Any way to top it off the 4th visit to this white rose gate Gregg's there where 2 car parking spaces left and driving a car recovery pick up (not HGV 3.5t) which is over 20' long and 7'7' wide is very awkward to park in these small places as you drive in there is a very inviting layby just perfect for larger vehicles so on this occasion I parked there for the full 2 minutes it took me at most to establish there was no baguettes left and left, 5 days later I was sent a fine though the post for £100 for not parking in a marked bay. If I had parked in a marked bet someone would have been upset about how close I'd parked to there vehicle. The layby is so inviting I feel like if been scammed, there should be clear markings on the floor indicating no parking. I regularly pass and there's always someone parked in the lay-by they must be making £1000s out of us hard working public. Gregg's may say we don't own the carpark and rent the building, but you are directly linked and could complain to your landlord. I've been through my bank statement and visit Gregg's 3 times a week spending about £7 so I reckon I spend about £1100 a year. I made a decision I will never return to Gregg's. I'm...

Absolute scam car park. Like others I pulled into the large open layby directly outside as it was pouring with rain, was in and out in 2 minutes, and got a £100 parking fine for my trouble. There are NO signs saying you can't park in that spot, only very tiny writing on the parking signs on the opposite side of the car park saying park in a marked bay. It's an obvious scam by the landlord of the property who must be raking money in with the parking company - when I appealed, the parking company said in their response "The land owner has not permitted Parking Group Limited for signs to be erected near or on the shop fronts and required all the signage to be on the left hand side of the car park." Well Greggs, I will never use this branch again - maybe you should take it up with your landlord as they're costing you £££ in lost customers thanks to the parking...

I don't call in as often as I could but it's always a nice to go. I have the 02 App that gives me a free sausage roll every weekend and I've got the Gregg's App that appears to give you free stuff though I have no idea how to use. The point is every time I go to Gregg's the staff who are obviously busy and could probably do without some ditzy old lady trying to figure out how to use said Apps are ALWAYS polite, friendly and more than happy to help out the ditzy old lady they are confronted with. I have nothing but appreciation for their assistance and friendly service. . .

. . . The foods...
