Review: The Salutation Thai Restaurant Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ My recent visit to The Salutation Thai Restaurant was a delightful culinary journey that showcased the best of Thai cuisine. With its attentive service, inviting ambiance, and sumptuous dishes, this restaurant left a lasting impression. The extensive menu offered a diverse selection of authentic Thai dishes, each bursting with the vibrant and nuanced flavours that define Thai cuisine. The food arrived promptly and was beautifully presented, reflecting the skill and passion that goes into each dish. One of the most striking aspects of my visit was the restaurant's welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. Situated upstairs, the restaurant has a warm and cosy feel, while the option to order and dine in the courtyard during warmer months adds a delightful alfresco element to the dining experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable dining experience from the moment we walked in. Their warm welcome and attentive service significantly enhanced the overall experience, making us feel truly valued as guests. The Salutation Thai Restaurant truly embodies the heart and soul of Thai cuisine and culture, making it a must-visit for any food lover. The minor drawback is that the restaurant can get busy during peak times, but this is a testament to its popularity and the quality of its offerings. Already, we're planning our next visit, eager to explore more of the tantalising dishes on offer. The Salutation Thai Restaurant earns a well-deserved 4-star rating for its exemplary service, delightful ambiance, and exceptional cuisine.

Really nice pub which I’ve visited with friends and family for a good few years. I stayed away for a good while as it’s started to get crazily busy too often and was often full of groups of people, some intent on trouble and going as a couple you’d feel walk you were walking on eggshells waiting for something to kick off. However I decided for the first time this year to give it another try. Thankfully the trouble I was put off by seems to be behind them. I’ve been twice in the last few weeks with my wife as part of both our wedding anniversary and my birthday and the pub was very welcoming. The staff were great, the atmosphere was nice and friendly. The pub really is nice, the selection of drinks is good, the food is nice and reasonably priced. The pub also has an excellent outdoor area. I don’t know the reasons for the positive change but long may it continue as I’d like to enjoy some afternoons here once the football season starts. Ladies toilets are being refurbished my wife pointed out. So another positive. As a guy, the men’s toilets are probably in need of an expansion given how big and busy the pub can get. So as a point to improve that would be it. I’d definitely recommend a visit here for both drinks and food.

Looking for a new food experience in the Doncaster area? Then check out Thai at the Salutation! Located upstairs in this classic British pub on South Parade, Thai at the Salutation is a lovely relaxed dining experience in a tastefully decorated restaurant. The staff are warm and welcoming, and are happy to help however they can. The menu has plenty of options for most diners, from those experienced with Thai cuisine to absolute novices, so there should be something to suit everyone’s taste and wallet. Dishes are generously portioned, even if they don’t appear to be so at first glance - the food is rich and filling, flavourful and delicious! We just about managed starters and mains, though were getting quite full towards the end of mains! Everything was cooked and presented beautifully, and we definitely look forward to dining with Thai at the Salutation in future.

Well where do i start, after reading reviews online we (party of 5) decided to call in for some food after visiting the racecourse, after being greeted at the bar by a member of staff who wasn't very friendly (would it hurt to crack a smile to paying customers) we inquired about ordering food, we were handed one menu between all of us ( we had to ask for additional menus) and the bar staff then made a phone call to see if/what food they had, i guess the warning signs started there but anyway we ordered chunky steak pie chips and mushy peas, 2 x 1/4lb burgers and chips, fish and chips and scampi and chips, after paying for our meals we went outside to sit down and await our food after 30 mins still no sign of it then two dishes appeared first was the chunky steak pie if you could call it that it resembled a gregs steak bake but with mince meat wheres the dam chunks of meat?? it was also garden peas and not mushy, second to come out was the burger or 1/8th of a burger, the 3 of us sat awaiting our meals to come out so we waited and waited then approx 15 mins later the fish appeared and well that stunk like grimsby docks and had the texture of rubber and no sign of the other 2 meals ordered another 15 mins passed and at that point we'd had enough so i can't say if my burger contained the other 1/8th of the first burger that came out but we'd had enough. After asking for a refund we were met with looks from the bar staff that originally served us as if to say how dare we ask for a refund all in all one of the worst places i...
