Jimmy Piggs Coffee House — Restaurant in Doncaster

Came in today for the first time in a few months due to being away . We came religiously every Tuesday for scones and tea and they were beautiful. We came today and we’re so disappointed as they could even be cut up never mind bd buttered or eaten as they just crumbled . We had piles on crumbs on our plate. I politely after we finished went to let them know , not for money back , just so they got no further complaints. The lady was so rude to me , told me they are always like that as they are fresh out the oven . But they have never been like this before and are usually wonderful ! Had she smiled and apologised and chatted to me it would be ok but she was just so rude . I asked her if she was ok she was that rude . She says no not really and walked off . Not the customer service you want on a morning you’ve come out for a treat , never mind poor quality scones . I’m sorry guys but this was really poor and we’re very disappointed. Been here a lot over the last few years and usually don’t have any issues but recently tried to Visit before going shopping but there were no free tables so decided to try again after going shopping 1.5 hours later at around 2.45pm and this time there were tables but we were told we can’t sit there as it was closed for cleaning now (the shop closes at 4!). This used to be a nice place to go but now recently it’s always full of people taking a table of 4 up for 1 person and people staying for 2+ hours and sitting there with an empty cup reading news paper or books which has frustrated many people and it is very common for people to just walk in and straight out!
