XL Fisheries — Local services in Doncaster

So far behind the experience you get from a modern fish and chip shop. The food is not great, the experience is that of a tired, can't be bothered place. It's always telling when there isn't much of a queue, that it's a given that the food will be average at best. Had their chicken and chips, which were awful. Greasy dollops of chips and horrible dry reheated scraps of chicken. It's a shame as the little bunch of shops it is situated in are always busy. Ive been once but now always go to the best friers in town that offer better taste for less money. Seriously needs an update or new management. If they made more effort, I'd give them another go. I'd only go if I was absolutely starving and didn't want to travel, but they've got serious fast food competition in the area and in Doncaster, there is much better to be had. Please improve...

I have just been looking at the comments and complaints about this chip shop I was really set back and even thought it cart be the same fish & chip we use every week. I am a disabled lady and phone my order in every Friday without fail. As the shop was so popular that I am not able to stand so long in the que. We have never had a bad meal no matter what we have. The meal is never fatty or greasy it is always hot and ready on time for collection. I worked catering for a lot of years I find the hygiene standers spot on. The staff are polite friendly at all times. I left them a very good Christmas tip which I wouldn't have done if I wasn't satisfied. Carry on the good...
