The staff were friendly and doing their best. The place itself is really nice now after being done up also it is clean. The bad part is we come here for a drink after food shop every week it’s just a way to make a chore more pleasant something to look forward to we hadn’t tried the food we thought we would when it is 50% off I didn’t expect anything fantastic and I did expect it to be busy however usually there’s three people behind the bar on the busy offer night there was one person… warned a one hr wait for food that is fine I knew it would be busy and thank you for letting us know, BUT my food finally came and tbh I didn’t eat it I’m not fussy but the chips were cold and half cooked the Cajun on top had a skin, the chicken skewer was rock hard charcoal chicken that poor chicken died to be eaten only to be cooked for soooo long it was served as charcoal any more pressure on the staff and there might have been a diamond inside, my husbands steak tbf was okay it was overcooked but edible so we shared that with some salad off my Plate I would not come back and pay full price for those meals you get people in on these deals it’s to showcase your food and I’m sorry but honestly the evening cost me two hours of me being at work for inedible food, the reason….. it’s not that your staff don’t care they were clearly trying their best it’s because you management! rubbin your hands at your promotion haven’t staffed the place appropriately for the uptake of the offer you put on all you did with this sorry thing is put me off I’ll likely go to the place I like on the way home for my after shop beer aswell now to be honest as they always serve a gd meal even when busy if we fancy it, if you will put on something like that be prepared to serve your customers well disappointed it could have at least...

My husband and I visited this restaurant recently for a weekday lunch. I am a wheelchair user and all of the disabled parking spaces were full. However, there is a large car park so we parked where there were several empty spaces instead.
There is an outdoor seating area at the front and the entrance has level access. The interior is spacious with some tables near the window and a more dimly lit area with a mixture of high, breakfast bar type tables and traditional standard height tables in dark wood. We chose a round table which are more suitable for wheelchairs (sometimes the square tables have bars underneath which restrict wheelchair access). The Ember Inn menu had a good variety of choice. My husband ordered the 'signature steak pie' which he said was "a proper pie" because it had pastry bottom! It came with mashed potatoes and vegetables. I ordered a vegetarian dish, the 'rainbow lasagne' served with a nice mixed salad. We both enjoyed our food, which in my opinion was good quality and standard portion size for pub food. When we ordered, we were told there was a 40 minute wait, which could have been an issue if you were time restricted. Thankfully, the wait wasn't quite as long. When the waitress brought the cutlery, I was impressed to see it placed on a long plate which I think is a nice touch and more hygienic. The restaurant was quite busy for a weekday but it wasn't overly noisy. There is a disabled toilet with the appropriate grab rails and a decent size for wheelchair users. Overall, my experience was good and the accessibility for wheelchair users is very good. I would definitely make a return visit when...
Read moreHave been for meals previously which have been very nice and I've even posted a positive review. However been today for food at lunchtime and the quality was really poor. Initially the husband wanted sea bass or posh fish and chips - both not available so we ordered whole tail scampi, chips and peas and asked for the peas to be swapped for salad and a steak and ale pie with mash and veg. Scampi was really overcooked, dark brown on the outside, dry and hard, the pieces were incredibly small. It wasn't whole tail scampi before it was cremated never mind after. Salad was a poor affair with a fair amount of peculiar dressing on, chips were acceptable. The pie was quite large but the pastry was really dry, we counted 5 tiny pieces of steak and virtually no gravy. The server agreed that the meat in the pie wasn't acceptable and offered a replacement or an exchange of meal. Husband swapped his meal to chilli, I just said to leave mine as I really don't like sending food back for an exchange. Chilli came and was acceptable but was mainly sauce with very little meat content. Luckily I left half of my meal so husband could use my fork because the server took his cutlery away with the pie meal and never brought him another. Anyway both meals were left half eaten. Server did offer a dessert for me as it took a while for the replacement meal to arrive but I'd lost my appetite so declined. I do think the server did the best she could in the situation and was apologetic however the poor experience means we won't be...
