This is only getting 2 based on the second bar man who was helpful without whom 1 star would be too much. Came with 2 friends, tried to order via the app however, we were unable to edit food options to replace chips with salad therefore 1 friend had to go and order at the bar. After that, our food arrived, consequently at 2 different times, though we knew this would happen. However, food was literally dumped on the table with a quick enjoy your meal not checking if the order was correct. I then had to go to a very busy bar as it is a saturday evening and wait to ask about complementary condiments and ordered sauces which did not arrive. The first guy did nothing meanwhile my halloumi fries were getting cold following the lukewarm delivery of our food. If that wasn't annoying enough our friends meal arrived with chips, no mushroom and no coleslaw, the meal ordered was a steak with salad to replace fries, peas and tomatoes, the mushroom was still wanted and coleslaw was paid extra for. When the lady was asked about the coleslaw she was argumentative claiming the order said no peas or tomato and served with salad. If she knew that much she would have seen it also said no chips and mushroom was wanted. Even if the till person had recorded the order incorrectly she still could have been a bit more polite. The reason i am doing this review, as normally i would be annoyed and leave it at that is because my friend is not allowed chips or tomatoes currently due to medical reasons. I feel that the kitchen should keep the establishment informed where items are not available and all staff should be putting their customers first since they chose a job which deals with customers. We can all have off days but please do not pass this onto your customers. Thank you for taking the time to read...

worst meal from a weatherspoons n manager wasnt bothered. 3 of us had steaks one wasnt even the correct type of steak. they came without steak knifes told us would bring them so while waiting had onion rings and a couple of chips. when knifes finally arrived we tried to cut the steak and it was fat and gristle we kept trying to cut a little more of to get to meat as you can see but it was still very gristely when you got to meat making it rediculous to cut. we mentioned it to a staff member who got a manager. manager came and asked what was wront we explained and showed him he said u can have a free drink or dessert or same steak. we said 3 of us have all had something wrong with tbe steaks could we change for somethin else or partial refund (didnt ask for a full refund even though all we had was the onion rings n couple if chips.) he said well your not having that when you have eaten it u can have a drink or dessert. so decided on a dessert seen as we hadnt had anything to eat. they didnt clear table away n brought desserts then waiter said are u not eating it, we showed him why and we got a eww thats grose answer! and he took them away. rather annoyed when i often go to gatehouse without any issues which is a weatherspoons just around corner but we went there first time in a long time for a change...never have issues there so in future i will be going to gatehouse and tellin everyone i know same because manager wasnt that bothered . as u can see from pic 2 when the meat we tried to slice was turned over you can see how...

Thought we’d nip over to Doncaster, because, why not? We live in Lincolnshire, so a day out is never a bad thing. The Red lion beckoned us like a Wetherspoons beckons a hungry traveler. We were peckish, certainly. It was 8:am after all. But travelers? We’d been on the road for all of 40 minutes, so possibly.|The Lion is a hotel and so the bar is ready and waiting at 8. It’s been open for an hour at that time in the morning. The kitchen was buzzing, food was cooking, plates were already hot as furnaces. A very good job really, because including myself and my wife, there were two people in there.|Two.|Two traditional breakfasts were ordered quickly, and coffees were poured while we waited for the banquet to arrive. Duly, it did just that. And it was very acceptable indeed. It was prepared nicely, all of it. The eggs were just on the right side of cooked, runny yolks and cooked whites. Perfect.|Eggs are always a bone of contention in a Wetherspoons. There is no set formula for cooking eggs, seemingly. No rhyme nor reason behind what appears on your plate. From the fried eggs that are so burnt they have razor sharp black edges and yolk like a child’s rubber ball, right through to the snotty poached eggs that look like they’ve just been removed from a used handkerchief.|But that offering was right on the money. And the bacon, hash browns and sausage were similarly delicious.|Nice food, cooked just as...

Good , I liked the Red Lion. The only thing was the room was small with air conditioning in ceiling over the bed. The noise and the chill factor was awkward for sleeping also they have a moisture barrier over the mattress which drew sweat and stuck me to the bottom sheet. First visit to Doncaster arrived at about 2pm on a Saturday roads were very busy! Parked up in the first Car Park we could get to, the multi storey above shopping centre. I know these places can be pricey but no way we're we going back out into that traffic! Good walk to the Red Lion though .....carrying luggage! Anyway price on hoarding stated £6 per day! I naively thought , well that's about £12?( day+night )we were there 45 hours the charge was £57+ ouch!! Probably won't be going back!

Really nice place, nicely decorated we went in for drinks on Saturday night and was busy, staff were friendly although I had some difficulty getting served later on in the evening seemed to be over looked but it was busy. Apparently there is a app you can use to order drinks and have them brought to your table so will try that next time.. Everything was reasonably priced, the cocktail pitchers were yummy. Make sure you give your self plenty of time to get to the toilet tho as it feels like you walk forever up stairs to get to it, could do with someone to fill the loo rolls up as not one toilet had any but again it was a Saturday busy night. Over all would recommend going nice friendly atmosphere and great prices.
