The Golden Lion — Restaurant in Dover

Called in The Golden Lion for a few beers while we were on an overnight stop before the ferry to France for a motorbike trip. Made to feel very welcome by the Landlady (even though we are from up North :-) ). Was quite late when we arrived and we wanted somewhere to eat but was told that we would struggle to find somewhere to eat. But the landlady (sorry Didn`t catch your name ) who was very accommodating, phoned the local takeaway and had food delivered and allowed us to eat the kebabs in her pub. So beers and a kebab after a long ride down from Sheffield....

We had a most excellent time here! We had a couple of cultural misunderstandings up front (Americans being dim-witted outside the US), but the staff and patrons were most helpful and understanding. It is a lovely and welcoming place, and we would be happy to be returning patrons. Thank you so much for the hospitality and the patience for those of us unaccustomed to the procedures...

We visited here early afternoon. Our drinks were cold and a good size, the service was quick and friendly. Not a big place. The only minus was, we were enjoying our drinks in a quiet corner, when they turned on some raucous music (speakers right above us), which rather dampened the enjoyment. Otherwise a really nice...
