Attended for the first time on 05/08/17, restaurant smelt very appealing and we had high hopes.
We sat down and ordered two large cokes with no ice, were then given 330ml bottles which is basically a can of coke. Both of us were baffled by this, because this is by no means a large, not only that they wanted to charge £2.75 each.. at this point we decided that was just too much for two drinks, that definitely weren't large. So we sent these back, and requested a jug of water instead.
Then we went ahead and ordered our food, whilst munching on some popadums. The food arrived and smelt lovely, however the rice portion looked rather pitiful, considering they wanted £2+ for that. However the food was average, not awful but also not mind blowing.
We then finished dinner and because we weren't overly stuffed like we usually are at our local restaurant, we decided to treat ourselves to a desert each.
My partner ordered the passionfruit cheesecake and I ordered the banana chocolate mousse, which we were both looking forward to and they both looked appealing. Unfortunately they were very much so a let down as neither of us were able to eat them, due to them being pulled straight out of the freezer. Now both of those deserts should be thawed out and completely defrosted before consuming. But they were completely solid, and inedible. We both tried cutting into the deserts, my partners spoon just stood upright in his, and I couldn't even cut into mine. So again we sent these back and paid our bill then left.
We left very disappointed and it kind of put a damper on our Saturday night.
Wouldn't recommend...
Read moreThe 6 of us had a meal here on a Saturday evening a few weeks ago.
I have to say it was one of, if not the very worst Indian meal we have ever had.
The last time we ate here was probably about 5 or 6 years ago, it wasn’t too bad back then, as far as I can remember.
This time, on arrival I did recognise a few of the people working there, including the lady behind the bar, doing the drinks.
After we were seated, we had the menus and ordered some drinks. Then the poppadom’s and chutneys arrived. They were cold and stale – obviously been cooked and left sitting in the kitchen.
We ordered our food, and when the meals turned up, we could not believe the garbage that the ‘chef’ has the audacity to serve.
Almost all the dishes looked the same. No real sauce to the curries, instead they were gloopy, just paste. No taste to anything. Certainly, made from the same base, they must use a nut paste and oil, heavy food colouring and lack of anything resembling spice. Even the rice was cold, hard and full of colouring.
This place does seem to attract positive reviews – I can only assume these reviews are manufactured or added by people with no taste buds.
The following day nearly all of us were ill with upset stomachs.
Do yourself a favour if you’re considering eating here – there are lots of other Indian restaurants in the area who are much more deserving of your hard-earned cash.

I have been here in the past, but not left a review as I feel that reviewing somewhere that seems excellent after one visit might be a fluke, the real key to a good place is consistency.
Well now that I finally got a chance to visit again I can say that either I am a:) really lucky or b:) they are just a great restaurant. Excellent service, high quality food, and portion sizes are an neither as big as the moon or as small as one of those posh restaurants that think they are serving a mouse not a human, we'll call it a Goldilocks portion as it was just right. There is also a good selection of drinks from the bar which makes a change, as a great deal of restaurants don't have this anymore.
The actual premises is nice, it is cosy, and comfortable and not over crowded, with good on-site parking as well. The atmosphere while loud is not overbearing and doesn't make you feel like you've been to a nightclub or a drop forge, the din is mainly that of the other diners which is preferable to terrible music turned up too loud or an empty place that echos like a canyon.
We'll be back and next time I am hoping that consistency remains, and I am sure it will be.
Thank you to all the staff that made our visit great, not...
