Yesterday evening, I took the liberty of ordering myself a Big Mac meal from this McDonald’s, with a box of 6 nuggets with barbecue sauce to top things off.
The Big Mac was delightful. Fries delightful. Everything was brilliant. Even the coke that came with the meal was ice cold, enough to pierce the humid air that surrounded me.
It then occurred to me I was missing the barbecue sauce for my nuggets. I’d already left the store by the time I’d realised they had forgotten, so I went around the drive thru to obtain the barbecue sauce. I wasn’t too disheartened, so I again took the liberty to order.
I ordered the new toffee crisp McFlurry, and explains that I was missing the barbecue sauce from my previous order, and the gentleman put this through the till for me. I paid for the flurry when I arrived at the window, but an air of uncertainty seemed to take place of the initial excitement.
I got to the second window and I received the McFlurry I ordered, but there was still no sign of the barbecue sauce. It had definitely been through the till too. The man who served me at that final window was self absorbed and arrogant.
No apology. Not an ounce of sincerity. Nothing. And before you try to blame the customer, I always use my please and Thank you.
It’s evident from my experience yesterday that this McDonald’s pours too much energy into making their food tasty, but not enough effort into making sure each order is bagged correctly. Their biggest weakness is clearly customer service. I was appalled by the level of service I received, and I’m sure they’re just as appalled to read about it.
Finally, to end on a positive note, I don’t like drawing comparisons, but these guys could learn a thing or two from kingswinford McDonalds. Sure they get the order wrong occasionally, but you know what? Using your please and Thankyou is met with a glowing, mutual respect from their staff. They fix the error and they apologise.
I think I will be going to kingswinford McDonald’s next time. I can have faith in their customer service skills despite their flaws. And that’s good...

Thing is the dips were from that new chicken sharebox thing and you open the box and there's literally dip shaped slots for dips.
The next part astounded me even more though. We had 3 orders of large fries and almost every single individual fry was rock hard and hollow, no potato inside at all. Were they over fried or something and somehow all the potato vanished? I don't know, what I do know is they were inedible. How do you mess up chips? it's the most basic thing of McDonald's, I am actually so confused. I can't wait for the future when robots take over fast food jobs because the people flipping burgers at Micky D's nowadays make the burger flippers of yesteryear look like historic scholars.
34 quid for this slop by the way! 34 quid! You can have a nice meal at a sit-down restaurant for the price. The future generations will tell stories of the fabled Maccas and the great rip off of 2024. It will be told like a spooky story around a campfire, many of the kids will cry, deathly afraid of being the next one to lose their wallet to the Hamburglar. I feel sorry for them. When the order arrived, they had delivered what my friend ordered but not mine, I called Uber driver and they said just to call Uber/site, but doesn’t help me trying to have diner
I then called site, lady didn’t give me her name, I explained what happened and they said they had run out of stock, after already taking my money. Again manager told me to contact Uber for a refund, where I didn’t want a refund, I wanted to have some food that I ordered with my friend, or a least an alternative
There was no empathy for either side, with no-one taking responsibility for when things go wrong and how to resolve them.
I asked lady for a complaints number, who stated I could have a free meal next time, which doesn’t help my situation now, which is why I didn’t get a complaints number. The lady spoke on the phone gave showed really poor customer service, didn’t deal with my issue professionally and actually ended up putting the phone down on me. And to make things worse, the food we got delivered was cold.
