This bar staff charged me £1.95 for a pint of soda water and lime? when all pubs either charge 60p, 50p or even at the wetherspoons they charge 75p.. I was shocked that she asked for £1.95 when it's only fizzy water and you pay for the DASH OF LIME i asked her why so much ? And I wanted to talk to the manager why £1.95? She said she is the manager. I was shocked.. i said so if I want a pint of lager is it going to cost me an extra 1.95 for a dash of lime? Her excuse every time was "the compuper said so, so thats what its says" no logic just dumb, so I'm reading what the computer says? omg I'm in shock. Hence to say I went to the next pub and got my drink for 60p.. it's a hot day all I wanted was to cool me down..

Now shes saying (look her response!) Its like shes a robot "errmm the computer says no 🤪) You knew how much SODA WATER IS which is ZILCH! Nada, nothing! Yet you still asked for £1.95! For a dash of lime that was 50p! you should have corrected it at the time and be a better manager, I'm surprised you haven't lost your role.. bad bad bad... and now your saying you would have corrected it at the time? I asked you on numerous occasions to pls think about what your charging? You still kept on saying the computer says so! I walked away and went the toilet to calm down and i came back asking your intelligent bar man a reasonable "can I have a pint of soda water with ice" he poured it for me with no payment. I thought sod off with that lime shot for a game of soldiers lol way too expensive and bad management.. you know the customers are always right and your EGO...

Let me start with the positives...

Dog friendly Decent choice of drinks Beer Garden

Now the negatives... Portion size was poor. On the accompanying sides. Sides were cold. At least 2 dishes had hairs on the plates. The staff denied anyone working there had hair like that, but the manager did. Refunds were issued for those dishes. We asked for the food to come out together as much as is possible. But it came out staggered and one meal was extremely late. The potato waffles on my daughters meal looked like they had been soaked in oil and left. No steak knives given with steak meals.

I ended up giving my few chips on my plate to my daughter as she wouldn't eat her waffles. She finished her chicken strips and asked if she pull have more that's how small the portions are. Bare in mind she is only 4 and doesn't have a large appetite at the best of times.

Now I hate leaving bad reviews. But I do believe in honesty. As a family we had been to this pub a few months back and we could not praise it enough. Now there are new owners it seems to have taken a tumble.

I have given 2 stars because the drinks were the only decent part of the meal.

We shall not be...

Booked a table for 4 at 5pm, took 15 mins to take order of drinks so we also ordered food at the same time. Took 30mins before starters came out which I can understand if it was busy but it was really quiet and several staff were just standing behind the bar. Food was OK but nothing special. We then waited another 20 minutes to be asked about desserts, got sick of waiting ( had a 7 year old who kept asking about pudding) so put my mask on and went to the bar only to be told the kitchen closed at 6pm. On the wall outside it states they serve food til 8pm on a Saturday? Won't b in a rush to return here. It was the 1st time coming in here since the new people took over and its definitely not what it used to be. It's lost its friendly and family atmosphere. There were also a group of mature ladies being rowdy singing at the top of their voices who made us feel uncomfortable while we were trying to enjoy a...

Came here yesterday after a lovely day walking our dogs. We only popped in for 1 drink but it was such a lovely atmosphere that we stayed for a couple more and ordered food too! Staff and customers really friendly and chatty. My daughters were especially fans of the pub dog who came out to the beer garden to meet my 2 dogs! Food was great. We had a veggie pizza and chips and a kids burger and chips. Good value and quick service. This pub is in a great spot on the canal and especially nice to be able to sit outside in the sunshine. Thank you for a lovely afternoon and we will definitely be returning!

What an amazing little gem of a pub. Situated right on the canal, they have a nice big garden and when we visited they had their bouncy castle out in the main garden. The pub is run by really friendly staff. The landlady's husband Paddy is so welcoming and friendly. We stayed overnight in our motorhome in the lower car park. They also have amazing cobs (rolls), I recommend the chicken tikka one.
