Having visited before and been quite happy with the service and food pre covid there seems a marked change. The table we sat at hadn't been cleaned properly with a improvised table number of a white paper disc with felt tip number. The pale coloured menu seems more restricted and more expensive with most option prices a drink. There should be an half pint and small wine option with the drinks. The bar ordering system was quick with 3 people taking orders. Table service was quick but not welcoming with food plonked on the table with a muttering of something about enjoy your food then the person raced off. This was enough to make you not wish to return. I had the new chicken and maple bacon salad. Poor presentation in a dish with wilted rocket poking through layers of sliced sandwich chicken and bacon squares. Couldn't see any other salad as it was hidden by the chicken and bacon. Tasted reasonsble but would not order again as little emphasis on the salad content. My wife had ham and cheese. Poorly presented with very salty cheese. Chips were very good with a small size being adequate. The pint of Doombar I had didn't taste fresh. Drinks prices are really good at what seem like half price pints and medium wine at £1.99 and a bottle of Hardys for £7.99. It's a noisey place but looking round people seem to be be enjoying themselves and attracts families. It's more expensive than it used to be but with what seems like poorer quality food and presentation. Not sure how many staff enjoy working here as their faces...

Sickening the way you treated me and my friends today. Clueless manager. Me and one of my friends are heavily disabled, I'm a cancer patient with a weakened heart and my friend has heart troubles and mobility issues. The manager came out and made us feel unwelcome. We was eating our McDonald's and was going to order drinks when the manager came out and seemed very aggressive from the start. We said we will likely order some drinks soon but he continues to be hostile towards us.

I have spent over £500 in this wetherspoons in the last 4 months and regularly attend as do my friends. Almost on a weekly basis.

Once we ordered drinks we got nothing but dirty looks from the staff members.

As someone recovering from cancer and my friend with severe disabilities I am disgusted at the way we was treated. Nice to know you don't reward loyalty. We was sat down less than 15 minutes.

You don't do anything about the troublemakers I have encountered numerous times or the people outside smoking weed.

If I ever attend here with my friends again I will personally not order anything.

The service here is great, staff are nice and were quick to accommodate with regards to the disabled loos for my brother- brought the key over as soon as it was asked for and returned it for us too! If you're shopping in merry hill and looking for a spoons to drop into for some food or a pint then it's located right next to one of the entrances so ideal for that. My only reason for rating this spoons down a bit is that location is a blessing and a curse for the establishment- a much, much larger beer garden than the waterfront although the views are not the same (though it isn't as though they can terraform the shopping centre so understandable) and it seems one of the other disadvantages of this spoons being connected to merry hill is they can't always offer the same deals food-wise that other spoons provide, the 3 for £10 on a Monday wasn't available when we went. This aside you'll find the consistent glories of other wetherspoons at hand such as the paintings detailing the history of the site. Much better for larger groups than the other closest spoons (the waterfront). I'd say this is a good reliable spoons for those who happen to be...
