It was 2pm and this was the only place that was still serving. I didn’t have high hopes with scampi and chips at £5, which was cheaper than the chippy, but I needed a late lunch. What a surprise!!! It turns out that this is the last place on earth which employs a cook who has retained the ancient skill of peeling and slicing a real potato to make fresh chips! Well done, just as good as my mum used to make. A generous lunch, nice peas and a pot of tartar sauce, no sachets, no plastic cutlery, no sticky table tops. Definitely a place to return to. Read moreTraveling through the area come past this café which, Decided to have a Steak Baguette and what a mistake that was, The Steak was little pieces and tuff as old boots, Not one edible piece in there at all, Essentially all i got was an onion and mushroom baguette because the steak itself was inedible, hard chewy pieces. Either they don't know how to cook steak properly, Or it was prepared ahead and stored and just dried out. Mine seemed like it was days old! Unfortunately left very disappointed and would not recommend this café...

Also had jacket potatoes and you get two nice ones served on their own. Also a panini served on it's own, which was the frst time I've had one without a side salad! Overall disappointing.
