The Red Forte Indian Restaurant & Takeaway — Restaurant in Dudley

I used to visit this place every now and again, and have to say this used to be my favourite Indian restaurant, even tho it wasn’t close to where we live, we made the effort to go because it was that nice, today we went back for the first time in years, the food was still as nice as I remember it, but sadly the experience wasn’t how I remember it, when we arrived i asked for a cold jug of water, they brought out a jug of water with ice and empty glasses, and we noticed there was bits floating around in the water, so therefore we didn’t drink it, it was also very uncomfortable sitting down in there as it was a hot day and they didn’t have any fans or air con on, they brought out our main course while we were still eating our starters, then they started to clear the plates while I was still eating my main course, they overcharged us on the bill as they put down a kids meal as a adults meal and we had to dispute this, also if you order a popadom starter what they don’t tell you is you have to pay for the sauces as well, but they don’t ask you what sauces you want, on the whole the food was nice, can’t fault it, but the experience let it down for me, and sadly we won’t be...

We ate inside the restaurant, the one waiter that served us made us feel unwelcome and as though we were an inconvenience. The section (near the toilets) is cluttered (a dresser with cloths and plates on it, looks messy). There was also an upside down sofa in the toilet corridor?! Very odd! Doesn't give the best impression.

The music was a bit loud, a small issue but worth noting. We couldn't fault our food to be honest, it was very tasty. We didnt have to wait too long and it all tasted fresh. You are allowed to bring your own drinks (soft and alcoholic).

The waiter made a very rude comment when collecting our plates. He started advising one of our party how many times a week they should be eating a particular kind of dish, as it was very fatty and unhealthy. Not something you should be saying to a paying customer who is self conscious of their weight!

Recommend getting a takeaway, rather than eating in. But to be perfectly honest, the poor customer service has put us...

Shocking experience.previously had a few good meals in the restaurant but tonight was extremely disappointing.

First of all for 2 of us to eat with 2 poppadoms the bill comes to £30 (£1 per poppadom😱) paying a fair price you expect good service we were wrong .Had to chase the order 3 times via the phone to the restaurant and eventually turns up 40 mins late they also missed our poppadoms we had to pay £2 for and the food was lukewarm and bland. When informing the restaurant that there were missed items we had to fight to get the money back for the poppadoms as we were told speak to just eat and didn't seam bothered until we kept pressing them to act.
