⭐ 1 Star (If I could give zero, I would)
The worst Indian food I have had for years!
For over 10 years I have travelled all over the West Midlands and beyond sampling the amazing cuisine from our Desi pubs, and this was by far the biggest disappointment.
We fancied a pint of Bathams, so we popped over to the Bathams pub across the road first, then decided to head to the Rose and Crown for a curry. Really wish we had not bothered.
The car park was empty, and when we walked in there was no smell of food and no customers. That should have been the first warning sign, but we thought we would still give it a chance.
We started with popadoms, which were not fresh at all. They did not snap, they bent. Then came the large mixed grill: the chicken wings tasted off, the lamb chops were chewy, the chicken tikka was dry and flavourless, and the fish pakora was honestly inedible, soggy greasy batter over barely cooked fish.
We followed up with a chicken curry and keema mutter. The Bombay aloo was forgotten completely, then rushed out half cooked after we reminded them. The potatoes were rock hard.
To be fair, the curries and roti were just about edible. But overall, it was a dreadful experience from start to finish.
This place desperately needs a new chef. It is in a great location with little competition and could really thrive, but not serving food like this.

Read more3 of us ate and shared starters along with 3 different curries. Service was good so no fault there however food was another level. The sagwala was oversalted to the point it was inedible. The butter chicken was just that as soon as you put your spoon in the sauce excessive amounts of butter oozed out and the sauce was so thick it stuck to the spoon. The pathia didn't take like pathia and unfortunately let it down also. The rice and naan however eras good. As this was out first visit and recommended to us we thought we would give it a try but never again. £60 we can't get back. In the end...

Handed us plastic cups but when u have paid £12 for 3 drinks I dont want to drink from a plastic cup. Felt like if it had been open till 11pm probably would have ended up in the clientele fighting.
