Fresh — Restaurant in Dunfermline

Tried to place an order on Just Eat, said “Not accepting orders”, phoned to check as everywhere said they were open, man on the phone fixed it immediately. By the time I was ready to place my order it was broken again. Decided to order through Deliveroo instead. £41 order, waited the 45 minutes that was estimated, decided to call at the 60 minute mark to be told my order would be a further 20 minutes with no apology. About 15 minutes later I received a call from a London number which was someone from the cafe calling to tell me my order would have to be delayed until later in the day or I could cancel the order. I called the cafe to cancel the order, the person on the other side of the phone was very apologetic and said she’d cancel the order then proceeded not to do so. I had to contact Deliveroo through live chat and they were able to cancel the order for me.

Worst communication I’ve ever received from a business. I work in a busy cafe myself so some delay is understandable but not without communication. An hour and 30 minute delay on 3 breakfasts, a portion of pancakes, 2 coffees and some cakes is absolutely absurd with no communication from them.

Would not recommend ordering deliveries from this establishment. They also do not use the provided delivery service from the companies, so you cannot see any tracking information...

Went here for lunch. Friendly greeting. Ordered food and coffee. Happy to wait a while, but after half an hour we noticed people who came in after us had been served so we politely asked a waiter how much longer it would. The person in charge came up to ask us what we had ordered. It was immediately apparent our order wasn't even being processed. We decided to leave, expressing our disappointment and annoyance. The person in charge then told us they didn't like our attitude ( did she actually think we would be happy with such poor service?) and told us not to come back. As if we would after that experience! It got good reviews BUT my lentil & ham soup was delivered to my table only luke warm, but that happens in most eateries, but the very pleasant waiter took it back & reheated it. The soup wasn't at all watery as in some eateries - it was nice & thick - the way it should be 👍 & the 2 slice of brown bread 🍞 tasted lovely & soft & was accompanied with soft butter in a small round dish - better that way than trying to get the paper off the small portions of hard butter. NEXT My Scottish breakfast was nothing compared to the best cafe in Bathgate called the BRIDGE CAFE (search it out) as u can see from my fried egg🥚it was all FRIZZLED UP.
