Initially very appreciative that we were allowed to eat a little earlier than usual. Bit of pressure selling for a wine not on the wine list and then not brought the meal I ordered. This could well have been a genuine mistake and I said I would accept it so as not to cause any delay with the rest of our party having to wait for a delayed arrival of my main. I did not really enjoy my main and had expected some recognition of the situation from the proprietors. This was not forthcoming with the blanket refusal to accept that it was in anything but my error. An absolute local gem! This place is high end dining in a cosy small front room, only 10 seats. This in my opinion only adds to the charm. You have to make sure to book potentially well in advance due to it being only having 10 covers but boy is it worth waiting for! We actually managed to book a table only 2 days in advance so it can be done but don't take for granted that there will be a table available, always book well in advance if you want to guarantee a table normally. The owners are a husband and wife team, the husband is the chef and everything we ate was delicious! The wife is so welcoming and great with the table service. 5stars I visited Hathaways yesterday for a family event, and everything was absolutely perfect 👌 The service was outstanding-friendly, attentive and welcoming from start to finish.
