Innkeeper's Collection Exeter South, Clyst St George — Restaurant in East Devon

The most awful service i have ever come across , food was okay but average at best ! One particular staff member was rude arrogant and condescending when we asked if there were nuts in one of the deserts I was at first understanding at her concern but the conversation soon took a sour turn and went on right up until i paid the bill when she told me that my son would be contacted within a few days regarding an allergy . It wasn't so much the company policy but the rudeness of the delivery of that policy . My 16 year old son was then instructed to write his name , address , phone number and e mail on a scrap piece of paper whilst we were eating our meal ! Even then i let it go only to be told whilst paying my £225 bill that this was not finished with and they will be contacting my son in due course . I then rang to make a complaint to be told the general man was not on site and the reason they used scrap paper was because the office was locked . After a while it seems the general manager was in fact available and in his unlocked office . Appalling...

Unfortunately not a lot that was great, breakfast was good but Tea & Coffee were lukewarm, due to use of a hotplate for coffee and a hot water urn.||What was bad was there is nothing in room to store clothing ie no chest of drawers, a few hangers and that's it, not even a stand for luggage so you live out of a suitcase on the floor. Room tired, all windows rotten, net curtains that do not fit the window (too small). In our room stains on carpet, damp stains on ceiling & wall paper peeling in places. Then we come to cleaning, well there wasn't any that we could see, bed not made each day, cups not washed each day, floor not hoovered, bathroom not cleaned or the bin emptied. All in all a very disappointing stay and nothing like other Innkeeper hotels we have stayed in, in the past (Inn on the Lake & Oatlands Chaser)||Building itself looks very tatty from outside with rotten windows & frames, also if you want quiet, this may not be the place as it is situated on a busy...

We have often stayed here on many occasions when Lesley was in charge,|We knew things would be different now she has moved on and Rebecca and her team have taken over.|We always book the assessable room due to my husband having surgery.|When we arrived there was only one bedside lamp..the other was broken,no shade or bulb at all..|There was mould in the wet room where the flooring met the tiles.. nothing that would come clean with bleach and a good scrub.|The bubble bath on the wall was watered down..never even bubbled..|We only had one loo roll..|The bin an the bathroom and the bin in the bedroom was not emptied..And to top it we only had WiFi in certain areas of the pub not in our room..We asked for toast and marmalade our breakfast..which never came and no bin at the breakfast table to put yr used tea bags and sugar papers in..instead everyone's was left on the...
