The Salt Cellars Café Budleigh Salterton — Restaurant in East Devon

A fantastic little cafe, we stopped here mid cycle from Lyme Regis to Exeter and were instantly met with a very warm welcome, before enjoying great coffees and yummy freshly made chocolate orange cake and a scone. The real winner with this little gem, however, is the people that work there… we arrived at the cafe with a mechanical issue on one of our bikes and without hesitation owner Geoff tried to help us fix the issue and when we couldn’t, he very kindly gave us a lift in his car to the local bike shop! Lovely lovely coffee shop & diner, stopped here just has the rain started and very glad we did. Child friendly and doggie friendly, locally sourced foods and drinks, the coffee locally roasted and very nice, the cakes locally made and full of taste. Children play area was a hit with our grandson. Lovely happy people serving and the whole shop has a very welcoming decor. Hidden Gem in Budleigh! Visited with my Grandma and 2 year old several weeks ago for lunch and the staff were so accommodating. The access was great for my 85 year old Grandma and there were games and chalkboard table for my 2 year old. The food was delicious and reasonably priced and the cakes were amazing! Thank you for making us feel so welcome in your lovely little cafe. I’m sure we’ll be back...
