I enjoyed a very pleasant flat white. Was decaf but nonetheless excellent, as decaf is so often not.

However, I was very disappointed with the lunch. The menu was quite limited, but I ordered the crab salad, expecting a plate of salad. What I was given was the tiniest portion size, more like a starter, consisting solely of a small portion of crabmeat, plus 3/4 paper thin slices of pickled kohlrabi. Although it was beautifully presented and tasted as crab should taste, I was anticipating more of a salad, or indeed any salad, for £13.50. So disappointed as the couple next to me had ordered bagels which looked considerably more substantial and had more of a salad with their bagels than I had! I have to say that I was offered a slice of gluten free toast to go with my “salad”, in place of croutons, but I declined as I believed the salad would be sufficient. However, had I realised how unsubstantial it was going to be, I would have accepted, even though I prefer to avoid bread. I left feeling completely unsatisfied. Unfortunately I don’t have a photo as I tend not to take photos of my food. It was quiet at lunchtime so there was no particular atmosphere. I left quite quickly. The staff were friendly. I did mention my disappointment with my choice of food, and the girl apologised, but offered...

Brook Kitchen Cafe is a delightful spot that truly stands out in Budleigh Salterton. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a perfect place to relax with friends or enjoy a quiet moment alone. The decor is charming, with a mix of rustic and modern touches that create a cozy vibe.

The menu offers a fantastic selection of dishes, from hearty breakfasts to delicious lunches. The ingredients are fresh and locally sourced, which really shines through in the flavors. I particularly enjoyed their signature brunch options, which are both creative and satisfying. The coffee is also top-notch, providing the perfect pick-me-up.

As for Sam Cotton, they bring a personal touch to the cafe, always greeting customers with a smile and ensuring everyone feels welcome. Their passion for good food and community is evident in every aspect of the cafe. Overall, Brook Kitchen Cafe is a must-visit for anyone in the area looking for great food and a friendly...

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Brook Kitchen Café and Art Gallery, and it was an experience I won't forget. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The café offers a delightful menu featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and I was particularly impressed with their homemade cakes and artisanal coffee.

The art gallery adds a unique touch to the café, showcasing a variety of local artists. It’s a great way to enjoy some culture while sipping on a delicious drink. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that my visit was enjoyable from start to finish. Overall, Brook Kitchen Café and Art Gallery is a charming place that beautifully combines great food and art, making it a must-visit for anyone in the area!...

After some searching online we decided to go to Brook Kitchen and we were not Disappointed!! We were on holiday in south Devon, are first port of call was Breakfast after a fairly early start. I had a full English Breakfast which was beautifully presented, and was really nice, it cost a little more then I'd normally pay, but totally worth it!! My Wife had a sausage sandwich which was also really nice, our Niece had French Toast. Which was also made to a very high standard. The Staff was Friendly and polite, I would definitely recommend Brook Kitchen. We also decided to book a table, which turned out to be a great idea!

We stumbled more by chance on Brook Kitchen and were really pleased that we did! We arrived early afternoon and selected the Scones, Antipasto & Ploughmans as we have varied tastes. What a surprise when each dish arrived joking with the others they would have food envy and made the wrong choice.... but each plate was wonderful in it's own way with lots of care taken in the presentation and all home cooked, although possibly a little time longer to prepare, but well worth the wait!! Unfortunately no pics of the scones as I had to get stuck into the Hummus....😊

Nice decor and relaxed atmosphere. This was our second visit and we were a bit disappointed this time. I had an extra shot in my coffee because I like it strong, but it was still very weak. I also had a bacon sandwich, which was nice, with lovely fresh ciabatta, but it took so long to come that my coffee was going cold. Last time we came, there were one or two gluten free cakes but today the cake counter was almost empty - this was around 9:30am. And over £15 for two drinks and one sandwich seems very pricey. Disappointing.
