Milenas — Restaurant in East Devon

My friend and I had the most wonderful light lunch at Milenas today. We both went for the bagel with whipped cream cheese and smoked salmon that was beautifully presented on a wooden platter with a side of crisps, leaf lettuce with a slice of lemon...delicious and very filling!! I had a flat white with oatmilk which is my "go to drink" and their coffee is divine being a bit of a coffee snob 🤣 My friend had tea which came in it own little glass teapot, side jug of milk and a beautiful pottery mug which we were both enamoured with. My little dog was treated like a queen by the wonderful staff who kindly gave her a few treats and plenty of fuss which she loved. Needless to say we will be back very soon to sample much more of Milenas home made food and goodies....personally I think she deserves a place on Professional Bake Off and I have given a 5 star rating,...

Sadly who ever served my Fiancé yesterday with a stewed coffee seemed like the end of the day coffee left overs that was extremely strong after taking it back argued with my Fiancé instead of giving good customer service were appalling to him also carrying on talking about his lack of knowledge of coffees to other customers. They were very very rude to him and if they're the owners I'll be very surprised and disappointed. The previous wk we had exceptional service. Their behaviour over their over stewed over brewed undrinkable coffee turning the tables on a customer is totally unacceptable and deserves an apology. Moaning to other customers about the coffee return was a completely utterly horrid...

I love my coffee. As a professional food writer, restaurant reviewer and former barista, Milena's is undoubtedly ONE OF THE BEST small, independent coffee shops in the South West. The coffee (bean to cup process therefore impossible to 'stew') is robust and bold - just the way it should be! Food is exceptional - including but not limited to the bruschetta, nachos, apple almond cake, salted caramel brownies, orange polenta cake and best selling Basque cheesecake. Service is always super friendly and welcoming. This coffee shop is like a big warm hug.
