Toast — Restaurant in East Devon

We wanted somewhere to stop for coffee and a light bite on our 220mile trip from Cornwall to Portsmouth. We found this cafe on the Web which seemed ideal as a half way house. What an absolute fabulous find. The staff were really friendly and greeted us warmly into this clean, cosy and comfy Cafe. The food options were amazing from toast to a full English and a lot more. We opted for bacon and sausage sandwiches on both white and whole meal bread that was so fresh it was still spongy, the fillings were top drawer quality and very generous. The coffees were proper coffee and piping hot. All in all this was just what we wanted and all for about £10 a head, if we lived in Honiton this would be a regular place to visit, friendly, clean, comfy, quality food at affordable prices. Driving through the high street this place cought our eyes. Too or surprise, also a recommendation from a friend. You can park on the streets for an hour free. We wished we had more time, as the menu was extensive. It can get crowded inside, but, as we found out, a lovely back garden with tables and lots of flowers are also a delight to be seated by. The brunch plates came in fast and tasted delicious. It is clean and comfortable inside. Greeted by friendly girls proud of their coffee shop. It makes a huge difference to the great service you get. A superb stop on the high street. We discovered this place on a stop during a longer journey. Parking was relatively easy on the road outside and we were met with a great welcome. Seating is in a long front to back style with table sizes to suit. The menu especially breakfast (which was available to us at 4pm. 👍) was delightful with all many of light meals catered for. When the food arrived it’s was very well presented and much larger than we would normally expect. But the best part of this stop is the taste the food was outstanding so much better than so many place we’ve been to before.
