Visited Archers today . I politely asked about quiche choices ( on special board). Owner said they had one cheese and tomatoe, and other was sausage and bacon. Owner then immediately went over to another customer in our group and asked her which one she wanted of the choices . Owner then told me if I wanted quiche I'd have to hsve sausage and bacon one!. I did not begrudge other person having the choice, but it's not how you treat people. Owner may have been looking after "regular", but I found it very rude. I was not only person to notice this either. Also I very politely asked the waitress about waiting time, explaining that I had a volunteer driver booked. It was more or less " it will be on it's way". In the end I choose lasagne, if it had not been afriends birthday, probably would had left!. I have very poor mobility, but notice alot about peoples behaviour. In better health I worked for Mencap, but here I felt treated like a second class citizen. I shall not be returning. I would not recommend. I may have got them on a bad day, but the customer service, manners were very lacking. I struggle with my wslking, but you should never judge a book...
Read moreWe have been here a few times now as tried the others with all their rave reviews (nothing wrong with that), but here, it’s ideal if you want to sit in pleasant surroundings where you don’t have to queue, and don’t have to shout at each other to be heard. It’s run by two people (very efficiently), who are friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Ideal in our case for a breakfast which on the several occasions we have been in now, are delivered in a reasonable time, and I’m sure it’s all freshly cooked. The food is tasty and hot, and they clearly buy good quality bacon, sausages, beans and not the catering stuff some of their competitors appear to buy. Plenty of room that includes larger tables for the larger parties. Looking around the interior discreet adverts, they offer Prosecco afternoon tea, and they have reasonable priced cakes too. I would highly recommend this place as well worth a visit. Once you go in, you’ll definitely...
Read moreDeborah and Kevin were amazing hosts when I asked them to do a Sunday roast for 13 on my 60th birthday weekend which happened to be Mother’s Day! They were so accommodating and lovely. I put the spanner in the works further on the morning of the lunch and asked them to add 2 people as my sister and son had surprised me from Bangkok! So there we were amongst all the Mother’s Day tea parties going on and we had an absolutely lovely time. The staff were wonderful. Deborah had even gone to the trouble of buying extra pepper grinders for us. One of my friends was coeliac and they went out of their was for a GF roast for her. The roasts were amazing and it was just the vibe I’d wanted for a post big party lunch. Thank you! Go and have breakfast or lunch or even a special afternoon tea. It’s a very...
