OH MY COD FISH BAR — Restaurant in East Hertfordshire

Ordered through Uber Eats. We have used Uber Eats for a while and love the service.

When our order came it was missing the chips we ordered, so our family meal was disappointing. Oh my Cod should have checked the order was correct before handing over to Uber Eats.

We called Oh my Cod to allow them to rectify this and we were told we have to take it up with Uber Eats and they couldn’t do anything unless we come and collect the chips (which defeats the object of using Uber Eats). We are disappointed as it is not the fact we want our money back, but we just wanted to have the food we ordered. Would have expected Oh my Cod to order an Uber Eats to come and collect and deliver to us as it is their mistake, regardless to the cost to them. Very poor...

I went here yesterday and unfortunately the food was way below par. I don’t mind spending money if good but at £26 for 2 x cod 1x chips and a pie, it just wasn’t. If we wasn’t going out for the evening I would have returned the lot for a refund.

Fish batter was thick and yucky and fish tasted very dry and hard (like it had been reheated or left for too long on the hot plate) even our non fussy kids fussed!

Pie was fine as standard pukka pie.

Chips… again not cooked to order and not particularly nice. Average at very best.

The shop assistants was very nice and polite, great happy service!

Please take on board as it could be a great place but need to tweak batter and cook to order so fresh. Sorry for the review but hope...

Went here today for the second time. The first time was disappointing with a cod which looked like it came out of a supermarket frozen box, but I thought I'd give them a second go. I asked for Cod and chips and some brown source. The young guy behind the counter was rude and didn't know what brown source was. How can a fish and chip shop not know that. I wouldn't have minded so much if it were not for the attitude of the chap behind the counter. I suppose it did me a favour, because I didn't buy from them and won't be buying from them again.
