Nice cafe/bar, they serve alcohol, coffee, american style burgers, normal meals you would find in pubs like omlette etc, jacket potatos, toasties and sandwiches. What i was looking forward to the most was the milkshake. This is the reason we went, i had seen one which my friend had and it looked amazing... so after my food which was cheese & ham toastie which came with a small salad and dressing which was tasty (proper thick ham) and looked crusty bread i ordered a milkshake. It cost me £3.50 and i ordered a Terrys chocolate one. My friends was literally dripping in chocolate, cream and terrys choc segments.. mine came and it didnt lool half as good. Yes it looked nice but not as good as what i expected. It was tasty but it wasnt until i got to the dregs at the bottom it tasted like choc orange. All the blended bits obviously sank. Other than that food / drink was good. Staff were all friendly and more than happy to help explain things to my nan bar one girl. She brought my milkshake to the table. When she brought it over there was no smile, just plonked it on the table and walked away. She needs some coaching in hospitality (blonde girl - heavy eye make up early 20s) the rest literally couldnt do any more for you. Shame! The cafe bar itself has tvs, nice decor. Love the wall paper!! Carpet was filthy though definitely needed a clean. Feels very cosy i can imagine it being mega cramped come the summer. I will visit again.

Review of The View Cafe Bar, Skegness (04/01/25) The View near Skegness is a lovely spot, especially during the sunmmer and festive season. The Grinch Christmas tree was fantastic, and the seasonal decorations added a delightful touch. While the outdoor seating area is perfect for summer, today's weather called for a cozy warm indoor experience. We did enjoy a brisk beach walk, which is easily accessible from The View. The restaurant offers a diverse menu with breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea options. Afternoon tea requires advance booking. The food is always good value for money. However,my personal view the multi-colored menus/book can be a bit overwhelming and distracting from the actual food and drink offerings. Today, I opted for a simple grated cheese, tomato, and onion sandwich on brown bread. It was absolutely delicious and came with a refreshing side salad. I wish I had added a portion of chips to complete the meal. I also couldn't resist trying one of their strawberry cream scones. While a bit dry, they were still enjoyable. My partner's food and Christmas cookie were also very well-received.

Came here for the high tea. Pre booked waited around 45 minutes for food but it was busy and was lovely when it came. What you see in the photo is for 1 person but was given takeaway boxes for the stuff we didnt eat. The food we saw being served to other tables looked great and plentiful. Staff were great. Cakes looked amazing. However, the general cleanliness of the place let it down massively. Toilet doors black were people have been touching them. Was served cocktails off a tray that had wet coffee all over it. Mugs for the tea/coffee you could scrape the plaque off them where they've not been washed properly. Toilets were beyond blocked (not their fault) but dirty which they can help. Luckily enough we managed it without food poisoning so fingers crossed the kitchen/food stores are kept clean and we aren't just lucky. Its borderline if I would recommend or not but cleanliness can be improved so wouldn't be fair to put no. For the sake of the customers and your beautiful setting please clean the place up! We nearly left before the food had come.

We have a caravan on Skegness Sands close to the view, we have not been in the place for 2 years as last time they forgot our order after waiting for 1.5 hours we left (but had not paid)

We booked a table on Sat the 29th June for 3 people at 7.30pm, we arrived at 7.20pm and ordered our drinks and the food, this time we had to pay first (thought a bit odd) 40 minutes later and no starters we complained about 10 mins later starters arrived. We was told the main meal would follow. At this point the waitress hung a 60 min wait notice up on the bar....Note we was not informed.

By 9pm and no sign of the mains we asked for a refund of the main meal, the waitress said no so we asked her to fetch the manager, she went away came back and said the manager said no refund!, so we asked again to see him, she went away and came back to say he had left!!!!

My son removed £40 from the tip jar and she went straight in the back and the manager came out (surprise) we explained and asked for the money back, he refused, we then made the whole restaurant aware of the shocking situation.

I showed him my wallet that had around £900 in it and told him to keep the money as he obviously neeeded it more than me. My son gave him the tip money back as we are not thieves (unlike The View)

He took my name (Sean) and said he would sort me out next time I came in

I would like the manager to answer the following, Why were we not informed at 7.20pm of a 60 minute wait Why do they take money upfront (I now know why) Why do they not refund when they are clearly at fault Do you think by refusing a £35 refund was worth this review Is it acceptable to book a table for 7.30pm and by 9.10pm only served a starter

Are you a manager who wont face issues, who displays and encourages and exhibits extremly poor customer service and has very bad business ethos

and guess what they are extending...........probably be a 2 hour wait when opened

They may have plenty of one time holidaymakers eating there but long term it will affect you unless you look after customers. I do understand that people outside should pay up front to stop people doing a runner but come on inside really!!!!

Treat customers how you would like to...

This bar/cafe looks inviting and initially the menu looks brilliant but the experience we had was awful. My son has a gluten intolerance and de first glance the menu has a lot of gluten free options for adults. There is no gluten free options for kids, but since they had so many adult options you assume they could provide a kids gluten free option. The answer was just “No”, no explanation, no offer of what they could do for him, just “No”, can they do a smaller version of a adults gluten free option “No”, So I had to order him a gluten free appetiser and a side of chips, which came to over £10. It turned out they didn’t have that and another waitress was sent out to explain. I advised her we had just spent £90 plus in the bar/cafe on food and drink and their not helping in any kind of way of finding something he can eat as every gluten free adult option wasn’t available! And if they don’t find him an option we are no eating and they will need to refund our meals and also the other family group who we had come with who had also ordered food. She came back out and explained they didn’t have any gluten free bread buns or the flour mix so it took the burgers and any coated in breadcrumb items off the menu, I asked for a kids small ham, egg, chips and beans which they did.

There was no offer of a reduction in price, no mention of the gluten free chicken and chips I had paid over £10 for. It is stressful enough eating out with my young son who has a gluten intolerance, and my whole family’s meal and experience was completely ruined. There was 5 couples/small families within the group that we came with and none of us will NEVER come and eat or drink at the view again. We are very regular visitors to Winthorpe as we have family who live very close to the bar/cafe. If you have any food allergies or restrictions on what you can eat, DO NOT bother attempting...

When I tell you this is one of the best restaurants that I've been to, I am not exaggerating. It was perfect. My family came in about 7:40, not long before they stopped serving food, so it was quite empty there- only a few other tables were full. The interior was lovely, the wallpaper, flooring and decorations not in-your-face, but not too minimalistic either, giving a cosy and organised feel. I also liked that the restaurant seemed catered for different people; the back of the restaurant looked fit for a party or a birthday gathering, whereas the front was more for a relaxed meal. They had a children's section too, perfect for my little niece! Of course, the view was gorgeous- it was next to the sea!

Now, the food and drink: I had a fruity mocktail, and I am still not over it 3 days later. It was gorgeous, I'd probably say the best mocktail I've ever had! I had nachos for food, and the tray was way bigger than I would've expected, and could've easily fed me and my parents. Despite how delicious it was, I couldn't finish it all, so the waiters and waitresses let me take it home in a takeaway box. I also took away a cookie and a cake, both of which were so good. My parents really enjoyed their food too.

Some reviews were saying that the workers there were rude, but I think they were so kind and polite, coming over to check on us, make sure our food is alright, etc. Amazing service.

The only downside is that I can't visit here more regularly because I live in...
