Our visit to Winthorpe (On recomendation). Wow! Small but very pretty! Firstly, the lookout backs on to a car park which has to be the cheapest I have ever seen! All day in the summer is only £2.... And it's free in winter! After this nice introduction, you can't miss the pub....get the postcode off Google and your sat nav will take you to the door! We were not there long for our first visit but had a couple of drinks and a meal at the lookout during the day. Food....quite a large menu with something for everyone. We took advantage of the two for £12.11 menu! It's an odd figure but what the hell:-) The food is tasty and you get a fair portion. Drinks however are expensive. This is acceptable for a sea front place but £2.10 for a pint of squash and soda is outrageous really! 2 small cokes, a fresh oj, and a pint of shandy was over a tenner! However, if you are there for a week you can buy a discount card giving you 10% off everything (i dont know the price of the card but it may pay you to get one). The pub has posters up for lots of family friendly activities and has entertainment on several nights per week in the season. I noticed a sign up saying 25% Off all drinks between 5pm and close....in my view the drinks we had would still be a bit expensive even with 25% Off but overall we liked the place and will be going back soon. I should also mention that the place is dog friendly, and has a lot of seating both...
Read moreThe Lookout Pub has the perfect location as it overlooks the Ocean from the conservatory, a nice place for food and the menu has a good selection. Dogs are allowed in so that is good if your on holiday and don't want to leave your dog in the caravan. The only downside to this place is that the staff don't seem to smile, they just serve you and thats it, a little conversation would go a long way, I'm a local and visit at least once a week so even on quiet times the staff seem a bit dull. cheer up people...
Read moreWent for Sunday lunch. Was busy but not overly so. Served quickly and food was nice. But felt the beef had come ready sliced from a wholesalers not a proper joint cooked. The portion size was ok but as it's not a carvary you don't get a day in what veg you want or how much. Gravy and meat unfortunately not as good as raf55 in Skegness. Would go again. Atmosphere and decor was nice and prices are good. It was just unfortunate for this pub that I'd had one of the best carvaries ever in raf55 in Skegness...
