My recent visit to The Willows in Tutbury was nothing short of enchanting. Tucked away in the picturesque town of Tutbury, this gem of a place exudes charm right from the moment you step inside. The ambiance felt like a scene straight out of a movie - an authentic tea room that instantly transports you to a bygone era.
What truly sets The Willows apart is not just its quaint setting, but the exceptional service provided by the fantastic manager. Their genuine care and hospitality made us feel right at home, adding a personal touch to the entire experience. It's rare to come across someone so dedicated to ensuring their guests have a memorable time.
The highlight of our visit, however, was the delicious home-made food served at The Willows. Every bite was a burst of flavor, clearly made with love and attention to detail. The combination of delectable dishes and the charming ambiance made it hard for us to leave - we could have easily whiled away the entire day there.
In conclusion, The Willows in Tutbury is a true hidden gem that deserves all the praise it receives. Whether you're a local resident or a visitor passing through, a visit to this delightful tea room is an absolute must. Prepare to be swept off your feet by the warm hospitality, delectable food, and overall magical experience that awaits you at...
Read moreExperience unfortunately ruined by the owner herself! Visited here a few times enjoyed the food, and the staff were very accommodating (with the resources they’ve been given), however it seems the owner does not have a maternal bone in her body. My 2 year old son spilt a drink on the tiled floor (not anything that could not be cleaned) when my mum asked for a cloth to mop it up, the staff were more than helpful, however their owner followed and not only publicly humiliated her staff, she then turned to patronise us about where we were sitting and ranted on about how much she’d spent on the cover on the sofa, to which we must have stated at least three times that it had not gone on the sofa but she still carried on, making the experience very awkward so we left very promptly. On reflection I’ve realised the place is not child friendly, only having one high chair on the premises and always seating people with children in the back corner of the place or in front...
Read moreFirst visit to willows this weekend and don’t think I will be popping back. Arrived about 40 mins before they closed for the day and they seemed to be more preoccupied with closing then serving. I was shown to a table and left there. Another customer told me to go and place my order at the counter as they all appeared to be busy. Perhaps if the large amount of foliage didn’t surround the counter the person behind it might have seen us! Slices of the cakes were all wrapped individually in clingfilm and it did make me wonder how old they were. It Was certainly not worth the £4.25 a slice. Whilst having our tea and cake we were entertained by the floor mop wandering around in the hands of a young assistant. If only the same level of cleanliness had been given to our table which was sticky and felt greasy. The interior is tired and in need of a refresh. Sorry Willow but I will be heading somewhere...
