I must say that we were looking forward to trying our local cafe. We lunch out on a weekly basis and really fancied an afternoon tea. Homemade cakes and sandwiches.
Unfortunately we were unable to have this as you need to pre book, this was not on their website so we were a little disappointed. But thought let’s try the food.

My friend had a egg sandwich which was delicious but when she found a hair she was unable to eat the rest. The staff were understanding about this and took it of the bill.

I felt welcome and given just the right amount of attention - left alone apart from a checkin every now and then. The staff were amazing- and the owner was very lovely. The food is phenomenal, with a huge selection of scones and quiche (these were divine and I ate 3 slices!!) and sausage rolls, porkpie and sandwiches - plus the cakes! we all ate well, the atmosphere is very relaxed so that you dont feel pressured to eat and go. It's a shame it is not closer to me as I would probably be there every day! There is no point in excellent food if the surroundings do not match, but this is perfect balance of great and knowledgeable staff, fab food and a lovely environment. I have had a 'famous tea' in a London hotel and I would choose nutshells over...

The food was delicious , lots of fresh sandwiches , fruit scones with clotted cream and jam , cheese scones with caramelised onion chutney , brownies , lemon cake, fruit loaf etc. The couple who run the business were lovely and took time to congratulate the newly weds. Happily provided doggy boxes so nothing was wasted. This is a little gem tucked away in an awesome gift shop , well worth a visit ,...
