When we arrived, we weren't sure if they were open or not as the doors were closed and there was a sign on the door that said "Closed", however, upon further investigation it turned out they were open and had forgotten to turn their sign around. When we walked in, it was eerily quiet, so we called out, and a young lad zoomed down the stairs to greet us. We sat upstairs and decided what we wanted on the menu. In the background, the Just Eat machine could be heard constantly, which wasn't ideal, but we were thankful we didn't sit downstairs as it would have been much worse. The staff were professional and courteous from start to finish, but this poor lad had to constantly run up and down the stairs to run tasks and deal with the delivery machines! They should definitely relocate that obnoxious thing! The food itself did not disappoint, good taste and quality, and we absolutely had to get a pint of milkshake each! Considering Wetherspoons is supposed to be the cheap place to eat, the whole meal from Jester's came to only £5 more than our subsequent meal there. The food was actually fillng yes, but I feel like the lack of meal options maybe is what is stopping them from being more of a go-to place for people. Overall, it's a nice, relaxing and good quality place to eat that I would definitely recommend, as long as you can block out the noisy Just...
Read moreJust ordered their breakfast and i am really appalled. Everytime I order or sit in at the restaurant there is always something wrong with my order. How are you out of stock on stickbread all the time? Lidl is literally 2 minutes away. The food is very bland and tasteless since everything is swimming in oil. Delivery is so long for the tiniest orders. 1 and a half hours+ for 4 milkshakes? In my opinion the menu needs a revamp, it's no longer an 'American Diner' it's just a bunch of random food items. Jester's is in need of an identity makeover... I don't know the last time i saw a Sunday roast in an American diner. The milkshakes are a family favourite, but over the years have become thin and runny, no matter if its delivery or in store purchases. I feel like jester's is one of those restaurants you crave and order, but when it arrives and you eat it you regret ever spending money on it. No custom from me in the future, leaves a lot...
Read moreThe 'Diner' has nothing really that lends itself to be called a Diner. The restaurant looks like an old person with a cheap facelift. The wait for the food was longer than I'd expect for what was ordered and the main items ordered were inedible. Value microwaved chicken and rubbery stuffing in the baguette and the mushroom "stroganoff" had not been cooked out properly, a powdery sauce with an unsettlingly harsh balsamic dressing. Thankfully the side order of chips that was ordered were nice. The toilet facilities were on form, that being tired and grubby with a broken lock. When the staff were told of the issues with the food, which was discretely and politely done, it was met with a very saccharin 'Sorry, oh sorry, erm sorry" with no offer of any reimbursement. So to conclude, a tasteless experience that will not be repeated, unlike the food I have no doubt if consumed would...
