A restaurant worthy of 5 stars. Greeted by friendly staff who showed us straight to our table. The menu selection was plentiful. Prices are top end, but for the quality and taste of the food we had, then I'd pay again. We started with the Sucuk. The sausage was spicy but not overpowering. The two dips went well with the Turkish bread. We would have preferred either an olive oil dip or garlic butter, but this is us being fussy. Great flavoured sausage with a salad that had a sharp tangy vinegertte. For the mains my wife had the chicken and lamb shish. And I had the chicken shish and Adana kofte. Both were seasoned and cooked to perfection. The lamb shish was slightly pink in the middle, and melted in our mouths. The chicken shish was tender and moist. No dried out chunks for us. The flavours, combined with the rice, couscous, and salad was like a party in my mouth. It all blended together to make a delicious meal that didn't last long. And the best part was finding the thin piece of pitta bread under the shish. All the juices from the meats were soaked into it. Very moorish and we will want more when we return, and we will. Was it filling? I write this 2 hrs after finishing our delightful meal and both of us are still stuffed. All the staff were wonderful. We were sat near the cook station. It was good to see the food being prepared and cooked. One mistake we made was ordering chips. These were not needed. They didn't add to the meal. Order extra Turkish bread instead, you...
Read moreHad booking for 8pm for our wedding anniversary .Was very busy when we arrived. Told to wait 5 minutes for table. At 830pm finally seated. 855pm still no one appeared to take drinks or any other order. No food seemed to be going out to other tables. Walked out as could just envisage that it would be too long a wait for food. Staff were obviously overwhelmed but there was very little in the way of apology for the initial wait and then this was further compounded by being basically ignored for a further 25 mins. This is not good customer service. Even if you are run off your feet an acknowledgement that you are there and even a quick drinks order would help.... but instead... tumbleweed. After we had wasted all this time our other options had stopped serving food. So our anniversary meal was a bit of a letdown.
EDIT... As requested in the reply I reached out to the restaurant on the 27/12/24 by email . And 6 weeks later I am still awaiting a response - it seems my experience on the night is matched by the experience of their management team in dealing with the issue - yet more...
Read moreVisited Lavish Kitchen in Lowestoft for the first time at the weekend, after hearing many good things about the place. On arrival, we were quickly shown to our table by a polite member of staff. Drinks order taken (lager and a cocktail) along with our starter and main course. We ordered the Halloumi and Sucuk sausage and a prawn dish for starter. The starters arrived with added dishes! They gave us a dish of homemade Turkish bread accompanied by 2 more condiments complementary. For mains, we ordered the mixed kebab and Chicken Princess with a side portion of chips. They forgot the chips, so we had to ask for them. I then ordered another drink (An English tea) and desserts - lemon cheesecake and a chocolate cake. My drink didn't arrive, but was added to the final bill. They were quick to rectify this and apologise. Overall, I would highly recommend eating at this restaurant, but please allow plenty of time. It was very busy and we were in there for 2.5hours. The food was amazingly tasty with plenty of flavours! Absolutely top tier. The overall bill was just over £100...
