Visited Felixstowe today from London and thought we would try SeaYou. We had large pot of tea, nice cake and a coffee for 7.50 which wasn't particularly expensive. Service ok too. However, we understand this is a family cafe, and we are animal lovers, but we were seated next to a family whose dog continuously barked really loudly in cafe, making it difficult for us to hear each other talk. Staff were chatting and laughing with them and nobody made any attempt to take the dog outside. Not considerate to other diners at all. As other reviewers have mentioned the 'trendy' gender neutral toilets may be the new thing, set in an almost open plan environment, but letting your kids play in this area for 20 minutes at least with no supervision is not everyone's idea of privacy. We were seated near the entrance to toilets and could hear them running around and laughing until their parents finally took them back to their table. Also agree with some other reviewers that owner replies are sometimes a bit defensive which is a shame as everyone entitled to their own opinion. Generally ok, but better places to eat and drink...
Read moreOur first time visiting and it did not disappoint. What a gem this place is. We stopped in for breakfast today. The cafe is clean and tidy, the staff were outstanding, with great service from the lady that took our order at the till. I had the SeaYou breakfast and my wife had the meat breakfast burrito and we each had a large cappuccino. The coffee was excellent and we didnât have to wait too long for the food to come out. The food was hot and freshly cooked. The full breakfast was great, the toast was superb. A chunky slice of white, nicely roasted but it was still very soft inside. Freshly buttered. Lovely. I really enjoyed the breakfast and my wife really enjoyed the breakfast burrito. It looked great. Iâll be getting that next time. The cafe is fully accessible with access ramps for wheelchair/scooter users. As well as the varied menu, they had a delicious looking selection of cakes and other baked goods available to buy at the counter. This place is clearly popular and itâs easy to see why. We will be visiting again in the...
Read moreHaving visited this venue previously we popped in today to pick up a couple of their cakes to takeaway. There was a long queue so we couldn't see what was on offer until we neared the till and came to order. We had waited approx 20 mins as the place was busy. When our turn came to order, I was surprised to be treated in a very curt and rude manner that takeaways should be ordered at the ice cream counter...there was no effort to serve me or provide any explanation as to how I would know what was on offer at the ice cream counter. Even after explaining I only wanted two cakes I was met with a firm refusal. No effort at all at customer service or understanding how long I had been queuing...This system cannot possibly work, I was then told to queue again at the ice cream counter to be served. Point to remember for people wanting to take food away ...how you can possibly choose your items without viewing what is on offer I don't know.... Definitely won't be returning after this episode of appalling...
