Chuck and Blade Burgers — Restaurant in Eastbourne

We were really hungry by the time we reached there with no reservations. Same door for Pizza and Burgers. Square Peg Pizza was literally empty then when were seated we realised that thatBurger section is filled in first so that it is easy to service. Ordered food and the order repeated just to make sure that they had it right. Ordered half and half pizza . Don't expect a normal looking pizza that you are finding in Pizza Hut or Dominos. The rectangle pizza was really thick and small by the looks but really filling. Taste wise, I would prefer other pizzas, but it is just a personal taste. But the good thing, is that, We found it really healthy compared to traditional pizza houses pizza. The best Halloumi burger eaten till now with good quality and quantity of Halloumi cheese with Hot Star Chilli Honey. Though it was really good (I was too hungry), the Chilli Honey should should have been given on side rather than in the burger. I'm not saying that it was bad, just that it wasn't my style. Though it was really good, I just felt it was too slippery with liberal dose of Hot Star Chilli Honey. Poutine too - the same. I wish the sauce came on side. Tots were amazing and so were both the burgers! Good effort made to make it exceptionally good. Too much ice in the drink- good for the hot summer days but you can catch the cold with sudden cold drinks. I caught one🙁. Not too jazzy of an atmosphere and minimalist approach works really well. Not too loud and not too jazzy. The service was brilliant and when we were taking the food back home, we had asked for the box. The box didn't arrive for quite some time and had to ask again. The girl came and apologised as she forgot. Just immediately, we had 2 boxes. 10% is already added on to the bill so it's just easy to tap the card, exchange pleasantries and go home. Great lunch out. Great little place, great food, lovely service and great people and ambience. Went in - as if by accident - just to try the burger and pizza. Go there, and you won't regret the quality and quantity of food - till the present chef is gone 😆. Retain your receipt and you'll get additional 10% off on your next visit. Definitely...

So me and my partner went to celebrate our anniversary and we thought we’d try this place as we haven’t been here before. Initially things seemed decent. Place looks nice and spacious and has a nice design. But that’s where the positives end sadly. We ordered our food and got given our cutlery. Just for another member of staff to come over and take it away for some reason. We waited for our food and then the burgers came out without the fries that we ordered and said they aren’t ready yet. So we waited nearly 10 minutes for the fries and we just seemed to be forgotten about. Confusing really considering the customers next to us got everything together. One of the members of staff at the bar called for one of the servers to explain where our fries were. And I don’t know his name but he seemed like a deer in the headlights. His explanation was. Sorry they’re being cooked. And sort of just shifted away. I don’t know if the servers have every job under the sun but there didn’t seem to be any designated staff besides the chefs. Everyone else just seemed to be running around like headless chickens. The server guy that was partially dealing with us asked if we wanted sauces. My partner said bbq and I was going to say mayonnaise but mid sentence he just walked off to greet new customers in. Which was annoying to say the least. Eventually we got our fries. And finished our meal. Definitely not worth the price we paid for it was average at best. Then when we asked for the bill we got it and then they said they’d bring the card machine over in 5 mins. Nearly 10-12 mins or so later we asked again for the card machine and finally paid and left. I’m really not sure if they were short staffed and stressed but the time when we were there it wasn’t busy at all. That one male server we had I didn’t get his name but he looked lost. Completely. He just didn’t seem to know where he even was. Overall disappointed and irritating when it was almost like we were forgotten about by the staff there. The lady behind the bar fair play to you for being switched on and I’m sorry that you have to guide people that can’t seem to use...

I recently had the unfortunate experience of trying the burgers and pizza at chuck and blade. I have to say, it was hands down the worst dining experience I have ever had.

Let's start with the burgers. I ordered a classic cheeseburger and was immediately disappointed when it arrived. The patty was thin and overcooked, resembling a hockey puck more than a juicy burger. The bun was dry and stale, and the toppings were sparse and unappetizing. I took one bite and immediately regretted my decision to eat here.

But the disappointment didn't end there. My wife ordered a pepperoni pizza, and it was just as bad. The crust was soggy and undercooked, and the cheese was barely melted. The pepperoni was tasteless and seemed like it had been sitting out for hours. We couldn't even finish one slice before giving up and pushing it away.

To make matters worse, the service was terrible. Our server was rude and seemed annoyed by our presence. We had to ask for drinks multiple times and our food took forever to arrive. It was clear that the staff did not care about providing a good dining experience, as they spend the majority of their time chatting at the bar.

I couldn't believe that this restaurant was genuinely in business. A NEW restaurant no less. The food was not only unappetizing, but it was also overpriced. I wouldn't have paid half the price for the low-quality food we received. A shame to see a new business for Eastbourne be such a waste of money. One more pointless burger joint.

Overall, I would give this restaurant one star and warn anyone I know to stay far away. I have had better burgers and pizza from fast food chains, and that says a lot. Save your money and your taste buds and avoid this place at all costs. It's not worth the disappointment and...
